I'm glad all of you on the east coast wearing your suits and ties know what REAL people want. Get a grip and come down south

Exactly what is he planning to win?
The funding fight.
There really isn't a fight. Trump has over a billion unspent on this from last year. He has to make a case why he needs more when he barely spent what he asked for before. This is all crap theater on the part of Trump and McConnell.

Unless he is completely off his rocker, no.
News is starting to present this idea.
What would the emergency be? That he didn't get his lollipop?

Yup... Ronald Reagan Proved it.
This is the post 9/11 world. Reagan wouldn't be able to pull off that crap nowadays, and good luck hiring anyone else if you do manage to fire anyone who went on strike.
As pointed out earlier in this thread, the military (including reservists and guardsmen) could fill in, just like in the 1980s.

It would serve the orange toddler right and would also end the shutdown immediately. There’s no one left to hire for many of these jobs AND no money to hire them.
Has anyone floated this idea with the appropriate parties? I think it is a worthwhile pursuit, even if painful and quite possibly a blow to our economy.
So you would imperil our economy just to stick it to the President? Are you really that small?
Thankfully, the market doesn’t seem to care about the shutdown, up another 100 plus points today.
