I'm just glad that the cute elderly neighbor who gave them the crock pot was most likely dead by the time it caused the fire. Imagine the guilt he'd have felt if he had been alive to hear about it!
(yes, I know neither the neighbor nor the fire are/were real...)
I must have missed the crock pot scene. When was that?
FFS, I missed the crock pot scene, I missed the smoke detector scene, I missed the scenes from next week. This thread is turning into a rehash of all the stuff people missed.

Washington Post did an entire article about this too. I personally think that the fire should've been started by faulty wiring in the house, a curling iron, the dryer... really anything other than a crockpot. It's totally ridiculous- crockpots are very safe.
The old guy that gave them the crock pot in 1980 said that it had already been used to cook many family meals. Given his & his wife's apparent ages, that makes me think that the crock pot was probably supposed to have been from the 1950s or '60s. Maybe the ones from back then weren't as safe?

Dad, is that you? Every time we got in the car "Is your hair dryer unplugged?" "Is your curling iron unplugged?" But now I'm like that, too.![]()

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:It wasn’t crock pot’s fault, but the fault of faulty wiring. Right?
No, it was the crock pot. It had a faulty switch. The faulty wiring in the house that they had been alluding to over the past few episodes had nothing to do with the fire.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Why wasn't the dog barking?
Even without the smoke detector, it appeared the dog was sleeping in the kitchen or close to the kitchen. It should have started barking immediately and would have made Jack come downstairs to check on it.
Good point!
