This thread is like the vaccine threads during covid on FB
All of a sudden, everyone was an expert in immunology, epidemiology

People who's kids have never been, are not and will never be at DC academy or any academy are giving their opinions as expertise on academies.

How can any of us tell someone else something isn't a good fit for them when they're fine?
Especially if we don't know what being in their shoes is like.

Most of the parents at DCU know DCUs faults and are willing to accept them. Denying them or ignoring them is just not smart because it only hurts one person - your son.

If you have some positive things to say about DCUA, like stuff they’re doing well, please share. If players and their parents are ok at the academy, then they must have positive things to say

What's the benefit or purpose of that for them?

I'm sure they're focused on what's important and relevant to their sons growth.
This gossip column surely doesn't qualify.

You're likely a parent with a son at DCU. The fact that you can't offer anything positive about the club other than what has already been posted by others says enough. Why even post on this forum then? You're obviously interested in what is being said for some reason??

For those that have posted very thoughtful and useful information on this thread about DCU. A big thank you. There is no place where you can find information on the club, good or bad, that matches what has been offered here. The longest post at the beginning of this thread is actually brilliant perspective.

Could you please point to a page on this thread that has a thoughtful post from someone presumably with a son at DCU. I'm not seeing it.

You have a son at Dcua. So how about you share some brilliant things about DCUA? I haven’t see any posts like that at all!

Oh wait, why waste time on that when you’re too busy focusing on your son’s development by trolling DCUM

Whats the point of a dcua parent participating in a vipers nest?
They can't say anything of value to be taken objectively or not be vehemently challenged by people who have no ties or interest in the academy.

One, you're assuming no DCU parents both present and former are participating now in offering opinions about the club. Too many specidics for these people to be complete outsiders.
Two, I'm sure if there was a compelling argument as to why DCU is a good place to be it would have been offered and more importantly, accepted by the thread. The whole thread is about whether DCU is a GOOD academy or not. If someone offered the good I'm sure others might do the same. One poster did offer the good things actually and that post was informative. But the reality of DCU is that the bad far outweighs the good and you're seeing that in this post. A completely new thread was created by someone that asks for ONLY the good things about DCU and that thread died in a matter of hours with literally nothing there. In an open forum about soccer in the area where DCU is a hot topic, that should tell you enough. Judge for yourself what is truthful and what isn't about DCU on here. It's obvious.

Hahaha.... as a neutral I'm finding this comment about thoughtful and useful posts against the DC academy hilariously hypocritical and misguided and disingenuous at the least lol

If I were a parent with a kid at dcu, I wouldn't waste time with this grudefest neither.

Why do you post here then?

They have three tactics when playing: kick long to the big kid, foul, and flop. The team has a few players with skills but instead they just kick and run. Good luck to those couple of big fast kids when everybody else hits puberty and too bad for the couple of kids that could do better and instead have to play like some desperate short sighted pay to play club. Then again DC was so recently pay to play maybe they haven’t gotten it out of their system.

This perspective on DCUs style of play is supported elsewhere on this thread and other threads talking about the lack of quality in the instruction and coaching at DCU. You saw that this weekend against Red Bulls where once again they were outclassed from minute 1 to the end in pretty much all the age groups and in every way DCU has some quality kids it's just that they are in an environment where growing as a player is very difficult. Especially when compared to what is happening elsewhere. If you're a parent and DCU is considering your son and you are considering DCU, please do your homework and make sure that if you do decide to go there that you have a plan outside of DCU to make him better. The hardest thing about this is that they monopolize so much of your kids time that there isn't much else he can do but you have to try. This is why the investment in DCU is just a gamble because their investment in your kid and what they are offering your kid is just really poor. For that much time, you have to ask yourself is it worth it if you have other options. And, if you have a high level player, you must consider other options for him if you're serious about a professional pathway. DCU is just not a good organization and the academy has been proven to be beneath its peers in the MLS. If DCU is your only option, use it to make another move or if you have to stay there make sure you're on top of your kids development and set your own high standards to measure his progress and how you will measure that progress. Without that, leaving it up to DCU is a massive mistake.

Sounds like you're just nosey and desperate to get insider information

Why do you need so badly to know what these people's kids are doing that they're okay with, even if others aren't?

Just seeing if you have anything to add to my insider information. We all know who you are. Seriously, get a life. No one takes you seriously. You just hurt your kid with the stuff you do.

How do people hurt their kids here?
Just need to know if I should stay away from commenting.

Yes, stay away from commenting troll.
