Are you kidding. Yes, they did make the top 5 but they played crap tournaments and didn’t play anybody of consequence. Those ranking don’t mean crap especially when you look at the body of work. It doesn’t add up.

Crabfeast, NLF, NAL, Terrapin Classic, are crap tournaments now are they?

Primetime, WCS, Laxachusetts Black, Team 91 LI and GA, LI Express were all opponents. Just say you have an axe to grind instead of mouthing off nonsense because you are bitter about something.

"#17 VLC would go 3-2 at Crab Feast and would travel to the NLF event in Long Island with momentum. VLC played the fewest games of the DMV teams, opting to rest for a strong showing. They opened NLF with a loss to Team Minnesota, then defeated Team 91 LI Storm—who were missing top-ranked Dylan Fiason and several committed players—and edged the Fighting Clams by one. A 4-6 loss to powerhouse Laxachusetts Black followed, and they wrapped the weekend with a close 6-7 loss to Hilltop. VLC finished NLF 2-3, wrapped up the summer 5-5, and posted a combined overall summer record of 25-14."

Uh oh, is the crazy guy with the hard on for VLC back?

All results are available on US club lacrosse if anybody’s interested. Quick glance tells me that this 2026 VLC team played virtually nobody. Ton of B teams. If they somehow wiggled up to number two, it was before they played anybody worthwhile. I see they played Next Level blue and got curb, stomped, case closed.

#2 in the nation is pretty darn good. What is the highest that NL Blue was ranked?

Must have been the Loudoun Times rankings, because this team was not a top 10 team, ever. And if NL Blue beat them 8-3, nuff said. Looks like they have a bunch of D2 and D2 commits and a couple of D1. But why are we talking about an average 2026 team on this thread?
Actually 9 D1 commits.

actually 10 D1 commits, you forgot the recent one from Langley, and it was US Lacrosse that ranked VLC #2. the rankings are based on the team's entire body of work, weighted by all opponents' records, not just one game. what was NL's highest US Lacrosse ranking - did they ever make top 15?

The VLC commit list is great, but I was asking what was NL 2026’s highest US lacrosse ranking - with all those players from MadLax did they ever make the top 15?

Yes. At one season they were ranked 14. Super simple to check this. Go to us club lax rankings. Pull up NL 26. You can toggle they different years

But what did the Loudoun Times rank them?

I keep coming back here for a 2028 club scene update and keep seeing posts about some 26 team. Take it somewhere else, fellas.

While there’s no way to confirm or qualify this statement… it may very well be true. But completely beside the point. Just as likely that the VLC commits are holdbacks, as they are mostly PVI kids and might have reclassed. Not a fan of it, but these kids from both teams are going great schools as a result of their ability to throw a rubber ball

Since these are kids, until you walk a mile - or more in their shoes - don't throw that stone. If the parents are involved and think an extra year before college will help, who's to argue that holding back or doing a PG year isn't the right thing for their DS.

None of the commits mentioned below are reclass or PG to my knowledge.

1 HP (PVI) Attack
1 JU (PVI) Defender
1 JHU (PVI) Midfield
1 Vermont (PVI) Defender
1 Stony Brook (PVI) Attack
1 CNU (PVI) Midfield
1 Richmond (PVI) Midfield
1 Mary Washington (BI) Goalie
1 Lehigh (PVI) Goalie
1 CNU (Riverside) Defense
1 Gettysburg (Landon) Midfield
1 Bates (Potomac) FOGO
1 CNU (PVI) Defense
1 Providence (PVI) Midfield
1 Roanoke (Indy) Midfield
1 Roanoke (Indy) Attack
1 Vermont (Langley) FOGO

Only one that I'm aware of is Stony Brook (A) commit who is a reclass.

I see 7 D1 commits here.

Hopkins
Vermont (2)
Lehigh
high Point
Jacksonville
Richmond

All good schools. But truly only one power conference lacrosse school (Hopkins). Next Level has 13 D1 commits and 11-12 are big power conference teams— ACC, Big Ten, Big East. Literally no comparison

A lot of Roanoke and Christopher Newport. I see two or three legit D1 schools listed here. One Hopkins, one Richmond, and one Highpoint.

I count 7 D1 commits including Langley.
I’d be willing to bet that Next Level was ranked ahead of VLC after they smashed them 8 to 3. Comparing these two teams is a joke. I think VLC had one win over a top 50 team and it was by a goal. And some pretty bad losses along the way. When was the VLC team ranked number two, during Covid?
