Why so vague?

I think we have our answer. She did not want to come out in full support of trans kids rights. If she wanted to, she could.

This is a big issue for me. I will vote for a 22 year old interloper if he fully supports the Democratic agenda on trans kids rights, anti-censoring etc vs. a DINO who puts parents rights over the rights of trans kids and who is in favor of book bans.

I hope both candidates will clearly state their views on all of this so voters can decide.

Has anyone heard of any candidate forums?

What school pyramid is your child in, if you don’t mind me asking?

DP. Why TF would that matter?
.

Bc I think the pyramids are v different demographic wise and people don’t always know what families and students in other pyramids are facing. I see the above issues as important but not the number one challenges APS is facing.

Nice language, btw.

PP here, that may be true but I'm not going to tell you where my child goes to school.

Miranda is a strong supporter of trans children’s rights, including using the bathroom of their chosen gender. To say otherwise is a blatant lie.

The leader of the Arlington Parent Coalition is in APE, the organization that Miranda founded and led. So given that APE is Miranda's base, this raises questions about Miranda's position on trans rights.

If Miranda is a strong supporter of trans kids using the bathroom of their affirmed gender, as you claim, why doesn't she say so publicly?

She literally did. On twitter.

Anonymous wrote:Ok I looked up Miranda's tweet. Miranda said "I'm so proud of this incredibly brave APS student. APS students deserve to use the bathroom with dignity."

What the hell does using the bathroom with dignity mean? It could mean anything, really, including making him use one of those extra bathrooms like Gov Youngkin said, instead of letting him use the boys bathroom like he currently does.

I also find her response kind of condescending. Who is she to be proud of this student. I'm sure he would appreciate her commitment to upholding his basic rights instead.

It would have been easy for MT to say definitely that she supports trans kids rights to use the bathroom and play on the sports team of their aligned gender. It is really telling that she did not say that at all.

These responses are telling. So she shouldn’t have said she was proud of a student speaking to Youngkin in front of millions about his issues related to bathrooms?? There is no winning with you all.

No vague or wishy-washy half commitments that fail to nail down a definitive position with respect to very specific issues. This isn’t a big ask if she’s actually a democrat running for school board.

I think it is also shameful that Arlington democrats endorse a person with no ties to and no knowledge of APS or Arlington County, and worse, literally zero interest in Arlington County and no stakes here at all. What on Earth are they thinking? This whole SB race is unbelievable.

Agree it's a dumpster fire. We have two awful candidates. This is what happens when people poison the environment. Who would want to run?

All part of the Republican plan to tear it all down. Starts with discourse.

You’re joking right? Only one party has been in power in Arlington for decades.

They play the long game and do what they can in a blue environment. Open schools! Masks! Transgender! Books! SB sucks!
