It is ridiculous that tabulating votes is taking this long. Their election officials should be embarrassed.
The reason elections are not trusted. When cameras go dark and they have a vote dump during that time, people are going to be inflamed. Then it has to be explained away by mainstream:

Changes require the state legislatures to change the way votes are counted. If you don’t allow mail ballots to be counted until Election Day, then it will take a long time. This is just a simple change, prep and count ballots as they come in. Lots of states do it and you end up with 98-99% counts on election night. Now you can never get 100% on election night because of military ballots and mail postmarks on Election Day, also time to cure ballots. They need that extra week to get the final 1-2%. Still it’s a simple process change that resolves all but the closest elections on election night.
I’m not talking about counting. I’m talking about the live cameras put in so people can observe the process suddenly malfunctioning, during which time a large dump came in, were counted, and added to the tally. If you want to gain the trust of the American people, you wait to count those votes. So now it has an Epstein-like feel. And those votes broke for Dems. The problem is, if we want to be trusted and believed, and you want Americans to trust the process and the nonsense to stop, you can’t behave like this.
From the comments I see on this site, even moderate Democrats are chided and ridiculed for asking questions, and have expressed their disappointment
This wouldn’t be an issue if simple changes were made to count the votes quicker. And who fights against changes such as prepping and counting mail in ballots as the come in, Republicans that is who. If fact, many want all hand counted paper ballots and only counted on or after Election Day! That would take weeks to get any results, and be way less accurate.
Again, you focus on counting. Let me make this simple. If cameras go dark that are supposed to make the process transparent, stop counting and don't dump a bunch of votes.
Do you really believe only the cameras are watching...that there aren't actual people in the room overseeing the process?
This is what I find really difficult to understand. That there are people out there that believe that internet randos watching vote counts remotely is what's going to "stop the steal".
Again, does it matter? The cameras are there for a reason - to bring integrity to the process. When the cameras go down and 9 minutes later there is a large vote dump that erodes a solid lead in a highly contested Senate race, people naturally will question the process. Making fun of those people only cements their viewpoint. I would think every person in the US would want transparency. That people here argue against it? I don't know what to say.

I didn't get to see any of the vote counting in Florida, where my preferred candidates lost. Should I be demanding that the Florida vote be redone too?

It’s not a tv show. Parties and candidates have observers and lawyers there who know how the process works. Nothing happens secretly. Camera feeds in 2020 just enabled delusional idiots to create hoaxes and disinformation about suitcases and flash drives and other bullshit.

+1 There was a big discussion about this in the Senate thread. Trafalgar is beyond Republican leaning, missed every swing state in 2020, still has an A rating, and was releasing like a dozen polls a week. Every poll had the Ds not getting to 50%, EVEN THE ONE FOR VERMONT SENATE. Hopefully they’ll go back on the trash heap.
