It's funny you say David and Victoria have high expectations - they have three sons who've graduated from HS but not gone to college. None of them need to have a job. The only high expectation I've ever heard the parents have is that their kids have very good manners. The sons all have a ton of tattoos, so it seems the only "tight ship" the parents may have beyond manners is that the kids show up to events for photo ops. Seems like a pretty cushy life to me!

Who talked about moral superiority? But for a wealthy young person with all the advantages in the world to not have a college degree is unusual. It’s not like his kids have amazing careers instead. They’re just being influencers.

Johnny Depp was our cautionary tale about getting tattoos of people. Brooklyn grew up with a dad who tattooed his body. So he thinks this is what one does.

Haven't you read that Pete Davidson regrets getting his tattoos and is on a mission to remove all of them, but it'll take 10 years of basically burning off his skin to get them removed.

He also talked about using tattoos as a way to hide. He felt ugly and endured a lot of nasty comments about his looks and was just not in a good place mentally / emotionally and the tattoos were a way to cover himself up and disappear behind them. He wants them gone because he is in a different place now and they are a constant reminder of a bad time in his life. I feel like maybe Brooklyn is similar in that he is filled with angst / anxiety / struggling and the tattoos are a way to try and cope or make Nicola happy or to tell himself this is what he wants or to prove something to himself or Nicola or his parents or the world.

It is a bit ironic that he is so anti the Beckham brand but they are also angry that Victoria didn't use that brand to promote their charity? I have no doubt growing up in a famous home could be overwhelming - the press and paparazzi and all but there are ways to deal with that without lashing out.

When Nicola was publicizing the charity she made inflammatory comments, including "these shelters are digusting." She also accused the shelters of labeling dogs as aggressive so they could be euthanized. She was mean-spirited at best and an amateur at worst ( I lean towards the second, I think she's an undereducated fool). The Beckhams aren't going to attach their name to something like this. I wouldn't even publicly donate to this, and I'm a nobody.

She isn't a kid. She is a 31 year old woman - this isn't a 3rd grader selling chocolate bars. One of her business partners is Conrad Hilton. I am pretty sure between the Peltz's and Hiltons - they can find the cash to look after all the dogs in LA if they really wanted to! Their charity was performative - and they got backlash for it. Why would David / Victoria want to associate themselves with that.

Exactly. GoFundMe is a non-serious performative charitable endeavor. Nicola certainly has the time and resources to set up a real charity.

And yes the Beckhams are very charitable themselves. When you understand charitable giving and put more of your money and focus towards it, you stop randomly donating to causes, especially when you don't know how the money is actually used. They probably do what many of us do and donate where we feel familiar and comfortable.
