You can play on the B level at Bethesda with dad coaches who dont know the game and win more if your only looking at wins and losses. I'd argue those players are going nowhere fast. Not to mention just glance at the goal differential in NCAA womens this weekend there are more than 5 double digit victories. Does that mean the losing team isnt playing at a high level and learning valuable tools for the future?

General rule of thumb is that sports should be fun for kids in 8th grade. Also, I fail to see the lessons learned by putting the 196th ranked team up against the no.3 ranked team. A game in which the Coppermine goalie even scored. What is the lesson learned here? The reality is, they would learn a lot more playing with kids at their skill level or slightly above their skill level. I’d live to poll the kids on MCE how much fun they are having this year? Person who made this decision should be 86’d.

As a Montgomery County parent please whatever you avoid MC Elite, it was the worst program I ever put my child in and I encourage everyone to avoid it. Its overpriced, they don't teach much, and the coaches are far from good.

If you are going to be in a tough situation, playing up in a division that is probably not the right level, then the best way to handle it is to play with your heads up, with positive coaches and parents, and even pressure D when the opponent is trying to just run the clock. Just how great are they doing? How many made varsity as freshmen and actually get playing time? I can tell you other clubs including NL have girls not only on varsity but starting at ISL and WCAC schools. MCE and the coaches are a dumpster fire have been since the 22 team. Just look at the recruiting record since then practically non-existent. They are showing 2 recruits currently for 25 class and both of those girls only played 1 year at MCE and left because of the horrific coaching and mismanagement of the director. ST. J bought MCE for the college connections which the director hoodwinked them into believing she had. She does not, the MCE22/ SR coach KCM does, and she is not affiliated with MCE any longer and hasn't been since that 22 team.

Clearly u have not done your research. Of the MCE 24s the ones who wanted to get recruited did, including Whitman, Sherwood, Woodson, and SR high performers. Majority of the girls made varsity as freshmen in MCPS and WCAC The MS team lost a ton is my point. Even though we left for Capital for HS with a few others, my DD was well prepared, was was recruited like most of the MCE MS team who lost a lot in the NGLL. 28s r not on an island, no need to tear down a program whose director that everyone likes to put down was involved with the college girls who r on the field now. It is not fake news. BTW SR coach is not affiliated with any club, she left MCE to raise her family. Where do the NL girls who made varsity play, not SR or Visi - what a joke statement. Guess u r trying to give props to NL.

I retract bashing , but again I have not had any of these experiences and could not be happier with the high level of coaching at MC

If you are a parent of the 2028 MCE team, you definitely have a gripe. Just looking at the scores from the fall, this team clearly needed more development. This team was in the NGLL B division last year and to make the jump to A after their fall season? That is confusing. These one-sided games are not fun for the teams involved.

My daughter’s MCE team scores were awful in MS, but has played varsity at Whitman all 4 years and her MS teammates are on varsity at other MCPS, WCAC and ISL teams and the girls who wanted to play in college actually got recruited. This is the point of MS lax. Bashing is not necessary, sounds like parents complaining b/c their daughters could be better.

I do genuinely wonder what the St James was thinking...other acquisitions or mergers have made sense or at least the clubs were credible. Seems to me that they either merged for free or someone really dropped the ball on the valuation. It devalues the St James to be affiliated with MCE.
