Was in very small print.

Grouping older players by school year places players in a more consistent emotional and physical developmental environment.
School age grouping will help college recruitment. Players of the same graduating class will be participating together in high-level tournaments and showcase matches.

If this is true then grad year based showcases and tournaments will definitely be common in the future. Otherwise why put that out in the world.

They're talking about how with SY and aug birthdays playing up 99% of players on the field will be the same grade in school at showcases.

Graduating class is definitely not the same thing as school year and clearly says older players as well. Hope it’s not true but this is definitely sounding like grad year showcases.

As other have said. GY showcases wont happen because its not good for clubs or leagues. Think about it. GY encourages holding your kid back in school. This is something neither leagues or clubs want to get involved with. On top of that playing down kills the concept of a team. Which means clubs will make less money when the cash cow paying customers get frustrated and leave because of older players playing down.

There's one parent that loves playing down trying to start a GY showcase rumor.

Serious and credible recruiting happens through individual direct player to coach contact

So now showcases arent good for college recruiting? Aug birthdays playing on their grade in school team have no issues.

Stop the nonsense.

Recruits have to be proactive for sure. Being the best player you can be, being proactive by reaching out and getting a high GPA is the ticket. This isn't a secret or controversial.

Youth soccer could go grade year eventually but they are going to stick with SY for a few years first at least. Clubs already making offers based on SY for next year. Remember clubs needed 18 months to switch from BY to SY. To go to GY would take at least 5 years at that rate with all the changes needed.

SY will be enough to get 99% of players on the field a single grade for college coaches.(with Aug birthdays playing up)

GY will stay in HS because it would be a disadvantage for Clubs and leagues to implement it.
Not even close to 99%, try closer to 85%. August and Sept are not being forced up, some Sept-Dec will play up, and some Apr-July were held back.

Yep, it's why even Aug playing up doesn't even solve it. GY showcases maybe is the only thing that would truly UNLESS everyone's OK with college coaches not seeing exact grade groupings when watching club games -- ya know, like now and always been.
Showcases going graduation year has a lot of smoke and now a bit of fire. It makes needing to play in a specified age group less important for some kids.

Last time, 5% of players were misaligned ... An average of 1 per team.

Maybe on B and C teams.

Not on A teams

Well, I'm seeing it happen now.

Not possible in BY

Just the delusions in your head and the things you make up and attempt to pass off as facts.
Club isn't collecting school grade info so they don't know who is where at school to single out August or September kids to stick it to them.

Arlington soccer collected grade info for all current travel players this year.

Clubs aren't going to make real decisions on self reported unverifiable information. Arlington said play on age, performance could get you an age group up and grades don't move the needle.

Keep telling yourself that
I'm telling myself that Arlington said

Playing up is a coaching and technical decision based primarily on the player’s skill level, soccer maturity, and overall development needs. While Arlington Soccer allows flexibility in certain cases, playing up is the exception rather than the rule. Each situation is carefully evaluated by the technical staff to ensure it is in the best interest of both the individual player and the team.

You should tell yourself that Arlington asked all travel players for their grade in school. You know the thing you said they dont and would never do.

Reality is coming
A voluntary show of hands is meaningless. Are going age, grade may be considered but not likely for playing up as performance is the key.

You do know their are thousands of clubs. They all follow the same age group rules without regard to grade. The soccer club gods spoke and they chanted birthdates only.

A: School grade may be considered as part of the evaluation, but the decision to allow a player to play up is ultimately based on technical criteria including the player’s skill, maturity, and readiness for the older age group. Grade alone does not guarantee that a player will play up.

In other words, we're appeasing some of you by mentioning the school grade thing, but your kid will play in their league designated age group unless they meet coaches requirements to play up an age level
He chooses to ignore that "may be considered" makes the statement care no weight.
