Youth soccer could go grade year eventually but they are going to stick with SY for a few years first at least. Clubs already making offers based on SY for next year. Remember clubs needed 18 months to switch from BY to SY. To go to GY would take at least 5 years at that rate with all the changes needed.

Was in very small print.

Grouping older players by school year places players in a more consistent emotional and physical developmental environment.
School age grouping will help college recruitment. Players of the same graduating class will be participating together in high-level tournaments and showcase matches.

If this is true then grad year based showcases and tournaments will definitely be common in the future. Otherwise why put that out in the world.

They're talking about how with SY and aug birthdays playing up 99% of players on the field will be the same grade in school at showcases.

Last time, 5% of players were misaligned ... An average of 1 per team.

Maybe on B and C teams.

Not on A teams

Well, I'm seeing it happen now.

Not possible in BY

Just the delusions in your head and the things you make up and attempt to pass off as facts.
Club isn't collecting school grade info so they don't know who is where at school to single out August or September kids to stick it to them.

Arlington soccer collected grade info for all current travel players this year.

Clubs aren't going to make real decisions on self reported unverifiable information. Arlington said play on age, performance could get you an age group up and grades don't move the needle.

Keep telling yourself that

Arlington

Q: Can players play up an age group?

A: Playing up is a coaching and technical decision based primarily on the player’s skill level, soccer maturity, and overall development needs. While Arlington Soccer allows flexibility in certain cases, playing up is the exception rather than the rule. Each situation is carefully evaluated by the technical staff to ensure it is in the best interest of both the individual player and the team.

So no matter what Arlington asked the parents, it's still business as usual with how they treat players

Your response to whichever school grade your kid is in doesn't impact where Arlington will place them in the age based cutoff system

Clubs don't gathered grade information for their players and if they didn't, they couldn't police the data.

Q: Can a player born between August 1 and September 30 play up if they are in the higher school grade?

A: School grade may be considered as part of the evaluation, but the decision to allow a player to play up is ultimately based on technical criteria including the player’s skill, maturity, and readiness for the older age group. Grade alone does not guarantee that a player will play up.

Mr August poster's Sept girl will have moved on from soccer by then, then once his July girl becomes his focus, he will be posting non stop to go back to BY. Good call.

August births are too few too matter. It is addressing all of it, May-Aug and Aug-Dec staying in current teams, whatever. Showcases going graduation year.

OK, I guess those players showing up at ID camps, practices just weeks ahead of tryouts at high level club is all an illusion!
