Youth soccer could go grade year eventually but they are going to stick with SY for a few years first at least. Clubs already making offers based on SY for next year. Remember clubs needed 18 months to switch from BY to SY. To go to GY would take at least 5 years at that rate with all the changes needed.Anonymous wrote:We'll break down walls one by one the closer we get to SY this fall. Sounds like the most recent one to fall was that clubs dont gather players grade in school.

Grouping older players by school year places players in a more consistent emotional and physical developmental environment. School age grouping will help college recruitment. Players of the same graduating class will be participating together in high-level tournaments and showcase matches.
If this is true then grad year based showcases and tournaments will definitely be common in the future. Otherwise why put that out in the world.
They're talking about how with SY and aug birthdays playing up 99% of players on the field will be the same grade in school at showcases.
Last time, 5% of players were misaligned ... An average of 1 per team.
Maybe on B and C teams.
Not on A teams
Well, I'm seeing it happen now.
Not possible in BY
Just the delusions in your head and the things you make up and attempt to pass off as facts.

Q: Can players play up an age group?
A: Playing up is a coaching and technical decision based primarily on the player’s skill level, soccer maturity, and overall development needs. While Arlington Soccer allows flexibility in certain cases, playing up is the exception rather than the rule. Each situation is carefully evaluated by the technical staff to ensure it is in the best interest of both the individual player and the team.
Clubs don't gathered grade information for their players and if they didn't, they couldn't police the data.Anonymous wrote:We'll break down walls one by one the closer we get to SY this fall. Sounds like the most recent one to fall was that clubs dont gather players grade in school.

Mr August poster's Sept girl will have moved on from soccer by then, then once his July girl becomes his focus, he will be posting non stop to go back to BY. Good call.Anonymous wrote:Can't wait for this board 8 years from now and people complaining either about possible GY and problems because grade doesn't neatly align.
