No additional changes the window has closed.
I’ll admit it, Girls Academy held the line this window better than I expected.
Going in, it felt like ECNL had a real shot to make a move and grab momentum, but that didn’t happen. GA didn’t lose any key clubs, and actually added some decent ones.
At this point, it’s pretty clear the MLS Next partnership is starting to pay off. There’s more stability, more credibility, and now they’ve got enough traction to really start shaping the narrative instead of reacting to it.

You mean congrats to Mclean. How may of those girls are from Vienna, or BRYC, or any of the 6 other feeder clubs in FVU?!?! FVU's only hope is that they can steal kids from other clubs whose parents chase th ECNL badge. Brave 2.0 is producing zero without FOMO.
Like every other situation this year. More playing time and age group changes (or both)
-Yes, looking for more playing time. Playing U13&U14 with 7 players on the bench means there is a lot of travel and effort to not actually be able to play and develop very much.
I also know of players who made VDA's team, but they were literally going into a roster with 21 players on it for next year and declined the VDA offer solely because that would be too many players on 1 team.
At what age is the VDA 21 player roster?
For U13, we had heard that is how many they have signed for next year.
You won't see future players in Playmetrics this season unless you are the coach or on the Admin staff. But my source was 2nd hand as the reason for a declined offer. So, given that, your info would be better than mine.
Wrong. New teams for Next season are already on playmetrics with “future season” next to them. If you accepted a spot, it will be on your playmetrics account. You can go to the roster for that new team and see everyone who has “accepted” the offer/spot for bext season
Thats cool. Ours is not setup that way. Can you see outside of the club players too who are going info next year? I wouldn't think they would be in your system yet.
Yes. If your club created a new team for the next season already on playmetrics and added all the players so far they have offered, sent out offers thru playmetrics and players have accepted, you can see ALL players who have accepted so far, which includes current club players and new players from the outside. Only admins/coaches can see players who were offered but have not accepted or declined.
How? New to playmetrics and see the registration but that's it
Are you fully registered? Paid the deposit and received confirmation email? If so, on the app, look down at the bottom and
Click on teams. It will show you what you teams you are currently registered in say this current season and any teams you are registered for in the future. Fo example I have 2 teams that pop up, 1 for the current season still ongoing and a new one for next seasons team (future). Click on the next seasons team (future) then close to the top you will see “Summary” with a drop down, click on that and then click on “roster”
Yes, got the confirmation email and paid the deposit last month. I can see that it is paid in the app but I don't see anything on teams. Maybe it is a setting that club can toggle?

who are all these clubs leaving ECNL?
Two PA clubs that have ECNL teams merged, applied MLSnext and got accepted for the coming season. At least in the boys side.
Yeah, and screwed the girls over (who were not ECNL to begin with). All those girls have moved to other clubs in tryouts. Please show where girls ECNL good teams are leaving.

And since the majority of the top clubs produce the stats that ECNL loves to have, I don't agree ENCL slowly declining.
ECNL could lose clubs 61-100 to GA and they still have all the stats they want and all they really care about from those first 60 clubs
I hear what you’re saying, and I’d agree.. today ECNL still has the top 30 pretty locked in.
But as an ECNL parent, I’ve started hearing more chatter lately that makes me think it’s not as locked as it seems. There are rumors floating around about big clubs at least exploring a move to Girls Academy tied to getting into MLS Next on the boys side for 27–28.
If even a couple of those types of clubs make that jump, it changes the conversation quickly. It’s not about 61–100, that doesn’t move the needle. But if clubs in that 20–50 range start making decisions based on pathway alignment instead of just league prestige, that’s where things get interesting.
ECNL will still have strong clubs, no doubt. But the idea that the top 60 are untouchable might not hold if the MLS Next piece starts influencing decisions more than it has in the past.
blah blah blah rumors - no top ECNL club is moving to GA
Hold on... We talked for 20 pages about rumors of GA teams moving to ECNL. Its time to start speculating about who will move to GA to get MLS Next.
I know one Club that wants to be in GA + MLS Next
Arlington
I know of at least 3 top ECNL boys teams that have applied for MLS Next for 27-28
Anonymous wrote:ECNL promoted 3 RL clubs that bailed on the GA. I was surprised to hear ECNL was taking GA clubs this year (hasn’t happened) because I was told RL is the established grader system for ECNL and clubs would have to make the jump to RL first.
Clubs who are in ECNL are girls focused clubs if boys are also ECNL. If you’re at a GA/MLSN club your club prioritizes boys. They are the money makers.
I don’t see clubs leaving ECNL girls unless they see a strong financial incentive to do.
