Yeah, he's guaranteed to get in. Every other kid in the County has to go through the screening process, which is explained in detail on the FCPS website & discussed ad nauseum on this forum, but your kid doesn't, so don't bother reading up on it. He's in, guaranteed. Congratulations!

What kind of certificates we are supposed to submit? Do they have to be "award"? How about those "participation" certificates?

Anything that you believe would distinguish your child from all the rest of the students in the pool as well as referred by their parents.

hi got our son's nnat2 score (>130). he's 6 (1st grade) at a FCPS...would he automatically be part of the 2nd grade screening pool, or do we need to facilitate outside of contacting the school? guidance appreciated.

Yes, that score is in the screening pool.
Please do some basic research. Go to fcps.edu & read about the process or at least read the thread you're posting on instead of expecting others to explain the same basic information over and over!

Does anyone have any idea how many kids from each school (in FCPS) will be selected to the full time GT centre and how any kids will be chosen for the in school GT program?

Every child who is eligible will be allowed to enroll in the Center. There are not a set number of available slots for the AAP Centers; all children who need the services should be found eligible.

The Benchmark score for the second grade pool of candidates this year is a
130 on the NNAT2 or 130 on any one subscore of the CogAT.

If your student is not in the pool and you wish to submit a referral, the referral form accompanied by any optional information must be submitted to the advanced academic resource teacher at your local school no later than February 4, 2011*

For additional information on the screening and identification process for the full-time AAP (level IV) program, read the Parent Information Packet and the FAQ's page or you may contact the advanced academic resource teacher at your local school.

I don't think he will need an IEP unless the deafness is affecting his work/learning. Check out what a 504 plan is. That is something that is usually health related.
