interesting . . .

The Border Patrol announced Thursday it would release migrants in southern New Mexico and in El Paso, Texas, pending their future court hearings Immigration and Customs "capacity issues."

Happy to donate to support those communities.

Write those checks and start sending supplies! Be sure to document everything on social media, too.

I dunno. My FIL who lives outside ElPaso just told my DH that he is going to buy a gun. He was badly beaten and robbed by two illegals a few months ago and turned the other cheek. Now he is preparing.

Your FIL's preparation reveals the underlying motivation of Trump's proposal. If you view all illegal immigrants as potential criminals, then dropping them off at Pelosi's doorstep is meant to punish her.

Riiiiight. If the idea of sending these immigrants to sanctuary cities had come from the Democrats, you’d be falling all over yourselves to show your approval. The only reason you’re outraged (as usual) is because your favorite person to hate suggested it. Get real. We see straight through your faux outrage.

Why do you think Trump wants to send them?

Because there’s no more room at the border and because Democrats have made it clear they will happily take them. Win-win. Right?

This is exactly it. The detention centers are full - and apparently dangerous, based on what we've read, correct? So it's best to process them quickly and get them settled somewhere.

California is the best option, as it's large enough to absorb more people. Add to that its liberal outlook, and it is indeed a win-win.

The "flyover states," as they're called on these threads, aren't as hospitable. Isn't that the thinking? That's Trump country, right? So why would they be sent there? Granted there's probably more space for them there, but since they're not as "urban" as the coasts, there are not enough social programs to assist them.

But this has ALWAYS been the case. People go where there are jobs, a strong tax base, and social welfare programs.

Do you know anything about immigrants? The Midwest is where many find jobs. I bet the farmers are getting buses ready for a pick up.

For example, an Ohio farmer drove down with a van to bring back workers:

“Osiel ended up in Ohio by following a generation of indigenous Guatemalans, who have been the backbone of Case Farms’ workforce since 1989, when a manager drove a van down to the orange groves and tomato fields around Indiantown, Florida, and came back with the company’s first load of Mayan refugees.”

the title for those too lazy to read -
Exploitation and Abuse at the Chicken Plant
Case Farms built its business by recruiting immigrant workers from Guatemala, who endure conditions few Americans would put up with.

Yes, the Republicans are “all about the Benjamins” and will exploit anyone or anything they can to make a buck. They want low-cost labor. And the immigrants want well-paying jobs so they put up with it - although that’s changing. More about that in the article.

Wow, so maybe it’ll be a win win if Trumpsky sends them to the Midwest where workers are needed.

I expect to see lots of people in NM putting their homes on the market.

Excellent. I would expect it to be Republicans to leave. Turn NM solidly blue.

Totally agree! You guys can finance all of the immigrants’ needs, including hospital care, shelter, and schools. Good on you!

Yes , good on me! And I will feel confident when it’s time to meet my maker that I lived a good life by His principles and that my actions left the world a better place.

illegally
under the radar
with no benefits

This is what happened with the Mexican Revolution. slave labor

So those jobs are there, but they're not "friendly." The coastal cities will provide them with schooling, healthcare, and housing.

Which is it? Do you want free slave labor or would you prefer for them to enter areas that are welcoming?

“The White House believed it could punish Democrats — including Pelosi — by busing ICE detainees into their districts before their release, according to two DHS whistleblowers who independently reported the busing plan to Congress. One of the whistleblowers spoke with The Washington Post, and several DHS officials confirmed the accounts. They spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations.”

You do realize that sanctuary cities are by and large cities where immigrants - both legal and illegal - ALREADY live. They are already here. And many of our communities are rallying to make it possible for them to live their fullest lives and become contributors to our regions. It's not a punishment - it's the American way.

Exactly - it’s NOT a punishment. So why are Democrats so very outraged?? They should be tickled pink.

For the 100000th time...

It’s not that Dems think it’s a punishment, it’s that Trump and Miller sat down to think of a way to punish Dems for the ICE funding for beds. Trump thinks it’s a punishment he can inflict on Dems in retaliation for budget negotiations.

I think he should go ahead with his plan. If ICE doesn’t have the funds for the buses he should loan out his campaign buses and take full credit for his plan. It would certainly make him look like a compassionate guy.

I dunno. My FIL who lives outside ElPaso just told my DH that he is going to buy a gun. He was badly beaten and robbed by two illegals a few months ago and turned the other cheek. Now he is preparing.
