Has anyone floated this idea with the appropriate parties? I think it is a worthwhile pursuit, even if painful and quite possibly a blow to our economy.

So you would imperil our economy just to stick it to the President? Are you really that small?

Thankfully, the market doesn’t seem to care about the shutdown, up another 100 plus points today.

From what I heard an increasing number of TSA screeners are calling in sick. Can't blame, they're among the lowest paid of Federal employees the airports they work tend to be in areas with higher COL.

And who exactly is he going to hire to work for free?

That was the pre-9/11 era.

News is starting to present this idea.

What would the emergency be? That he didn't get his lollipop?

+1 So many promises broken. Trump supporters don't care. But they will when their SNAP benefits stop coming and they don't get their tax refunds.

You’re right that we don’t care. We just want the wall built. Every day that the government is shut down is a gift for the President and his supporters as it makes it that much more likely that he will be re-elected. And you don’t even know how to handle that reality, do you?

Except the percentage of voters who are supporters is shrinking every day as exemplified by the midterms. So sure, dig in, but it isn't a winning cause.

If the "tax cut" were really so great at stimulating the economy, why isn't the government rolling in wall money? Why can't Feds get their paychecks and a cost-of-living raise to boot?

I’m so sick of this stupid retort. The President has extracted billions in concessions from Mexico, including through a renegotiated NAFTA. So Mexico is paying, in a sense. What no one here HAS answered is why Dems care more about illegal immigrants than federal workers. What is your response to that?

"Stupid retort"? Your Dear Leader made the claim that Mexico would pay. Are you calling Trump stupid?

+1
Not to mention, these idiots think Mexico is paying for it out of a trade bill that isn’t even in effect yet! Oh yes, money is coming out of an unratified treaty! We aren’t dealing with the smartest people, these Trump supporters.

You will whine louder than the rest when your food stamps run out.
