in Virginia FCV 07s will stay for DA. They are ranked 154 in region 1, but a better team then that. The 2 big power clubs with very strong 07 girls are Loudoun (ranked #8) and Mclean (#26), but they are the ECNL, so any DA shift may not occur unless say top 3-5 at each club defect. The other 2 DAs, WS and arlington (#102) are either non-existent or a weaker group, so if everyone stays home, it will all be spread out and diluted again with 2 strong ECNL clubs at that age . . . . . Loudoun + Mclean.
braddock (#110) is the ECNL but probably lower on chain.
All speculation but a lot may be about the DAs trying to get commits before the ECNLdoes . . . . . why doesn't the ECNL change that approch and go earlier?

Totally agree with this, Arlington will not take exsisting players for DA if they are not capable. Arlington’s 05 DA team only has about 13 players, of which about 4 came from Arlington. This should send a loud message to those 07 players.

Because they will make a competitive team.
*Not many people play up in Arlington. I don't know of any play ups in DA (other than when absolutely necessary because of injuries).
*Some will leave to go to McLean but I think, only if there is some history there (like an older sister who played).
*Most of the A/B Licensed coaches are pretty well known and well liked within the club.
I think some outside players will come to tryouts, and they will recruit to fill out the team. The other DA teams have small rosters.

McLean waited too long too. Those two groups are very good and if the starters don't choose DA then telling indeed. Real neighbor beltway battle in a year will be 08's in McLean and ARL, both strong - unlike 07s.

Keep in mind that Loudoun was awarded ECNL in late February so having March ID sessions last year was reasonable. I'd expect Loudoun to adopt a similar timeline as FCV's ID sessions.

No. I don't know that they still have any formal affiliation.
They did at one point. We practiced on their fields last year, had 2 DPs with them, and picked up one of their players last year. We also occasionally have a game on their fields. To my knowledge, Gunston and WS still have a relationship.

While that's true, if you look club wide, above the U13s, I'm not sure a single player comes from there. And the U13 group is in its infancy. All I'm saying is that you have to see that translate across the board and on the older teams to truly count as a feeder.
Not from WS MD, but I'd be interested to see how that compares to their "feeders": Pipeline and Baltimore Armour. Totally out of curiosity.
A true feeder program would look more like Arlington's non-DA into their DA, or McLean's, so on and so forth.
