It is within a drivable distance for us but never checked it out. We like DC’s current team and coach but have some concerns about whether it makes sense long term. I think a lot of changes are coming to teams next year anyway. GFR is not so good right now in my DC’s age group so could be an opportunity to get a lot of playing time right away. But would be hesitant to go there without a good coach and at least the possibility of a pathway (have one at current club even if it’s mostly marketing).
Agree but the advertised pathway tends to attract stronger players to the RL teams than if there’s no pathway.
There was a pathway with NVA and I think you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone at GFR who noticed a positive impact.
GFR was stronger at least at my child’s age group when they had a “pathway” to NVA. Maybe it was other factors, but something seemed to have happened this past year or two that caused kids to leave. Lack of pathway would not have helped.
