And is it affordable for the newly unemployed feds?
I have always loved the ability for DCUM's to read the room.
Never change!

World doesn’t revolve around the person with the biggest problems. 2 things can happen simultaneously, not sure if you knew that.

Criticize all you want, but how nice would it be to have that third place -- away from work and home -- where you can go relax, hit the pool, play tennis or golf and run into some familiar faces? The limiting step for me is that I'm not connected to the right people to get sponsorship to one of these exclusive clubs. And I don't have 100K just sitting in the bank! Oh well.

I agree. Feel the same.

On that note, I do feel left out. My kid goes to public school but literally and third of her classmates families are Members at the local club. The kids talk about it all the time - the parties and special events. Sometimes friends invite her. Lately she just asks if we can go to whatever event/party she has heard about. It sucks.

What area are you in? Bethesda? Also if that many friends are members seems easy to get a sponsor to join if not a long waiting list.

Clearly you’re not that curious otherwise you would just call them and ask.

Fixed that for you.

I’ll fix it again. Kenwood has plenty of non-Christian and non-white members. There’s a Hanukkah party too. Perhaps you’re thinking of 50 years ago. Bethesda has changed, and do have its institutions.

The only people I know belonging to Kenwood are Jewish - three families.

Yes quite nice. Great atmosphere. Very international since founding of Bretton Woods was started by IMF and World Bank

Anonymous wrote:Washington Golf is NOT difficult to get into if you are willing to deal with the wait, so you can get over yourself on that one. They charge 100K because it's a good club, and they can, because they have a massive wait list.

I have live here a long time, belong to clubs and visit nearly all of them from time to time to play. NOBODY uses the phrase 'big three' related to CCs. You can take that BS to the private school forum.

Plus only 18 holes whereas the one 2 miles down the road has like 54 holes. People love to talk up the “brands” they over paid for
