No they weren’t, you were listening with blinders. They were actually making the point that just because you don’t make the team now, doesn’t mean you can’t make it later. They stated this and provided examples of kids who didn’t make it now and made it later. They used feeder clubs as an example because why would you use another club. Umm reading comprehension not your thing? It very clearly stated that. Read the last part of the email. There is nothing wrong with saying it if that’s their “business best practice” as noted above by someone else. I would argue one ID session is absurd though.

That guidance is the Best Business Practice from the Club's standpoint. You can infer that is the logic, "playing VDA Club feeder RL team will increase your chance to be seen for next year." Those feeder clubs do have coaches that can vouch for the best players and they do have internal clinics at VDA with the best feeder club players. On paper it looks good. But typically, it is easier to make the VDA team being an external player than one who is in one of the feeder clubs after the 1st year. All clubs will take external players at any opportunity rather than promote from within. Financially it makes more sense, the coaches don't ruffle any feathers of the existing jealous families and they already have the family and their money in the club. They are banking on those families to just become comfortable and stay in place propping up their 2nd tier teams.

They will take an external player after just 1 or 2 sessions, whereas they will look at an internal player 20 times or more before considering moving them up.

It was in the email they sent in which they said the second Id session would be invite only. They said if you didn’t get an invite, consider trying out for their feeder clubs so they can keep an eye on you. 🙄

Nope, not him. Just someone who struggles with people straight up lying on this forum.

For the last couple of years, whenever they brought in outside players, those players had to be among the strongest they could find. They had to be clearly better than the HG players to make it onto the team. You can’t really blame them for that.

It’s rare but if your player just has a great session coaches can and will give you an offer the first time seeing them
