Yes, next episode should be good.
Will be interesting to see Nancy and Joan in the same show. I always wanted Nancy as Golden Bachelorette. She seemed to be the prettiest one -- in a natural way.
That aside, I see Joan going with Chock and it lasting under a year. They will put out a statement saying they have mutually agreed to end their relationship due to the fact that they both love their families and each one wants to be near their families for the milestones, etc. , etc. Joan was on Viall Files this week and she said several times that she grew up in Maryland, all of her kids are in Md (except on in PA -- which is close enough), and she is NOT leaving Maryland. So, Chock, how do you feel about moving to Maryland???
The thing is, Chock is only 60! He's actually younger than Joan. He has a successful insurance business -- which is based on networking and knowing people. He can "work from Maryland" off and on, but he needs to be in Kansas for his business. He's surely too young to retire. Insurance is the kind of business that you can do until you're 70. So, he's not going to drop his business. And his kids are pretty young (as adults). He will want to be near them to be part of their lives. Chock is coming in hot and heavy, and it'll last longer than Gerry and Teresa. But, I think it has a 12 month expiration date -- when they get tired of trying to make it work long distance and Chock realizes he doesn't want to move to Md.
Also, Pascal is 69. I don't know if a person who is 61, like Joan, wants to hitch her wagon to someone who is that much older. When you are in your 30s, an 8 yr gap is no big deal b/c you are pretty much in the same phase professionally. But, at 61, you would have to REALLY, REALLY like the guy to sign up to be his nurse. Sure, Pascal is in good shape, but still, he's almost 70. Why wouldn't Joan pick someone younger if she had the option. Also, the location thing with Pascal is a deal-breaker in the end. Pascal's whole life/business is in Chicago. Joan has been ABUNDANTLY clear that she is 100% NOT leaving Maryland. So... that's not going to change and can't be resolved unless Pascal sells his business and fully retires... which I don't see him doing.
Joan wants someone who prioritizes their own family -- which is a great trait -- but a man who loves his family as much as she loves hers is going to have to be located on the East Coast if it is ever going to work out long term. None of her final 4 guys had a family on the East Coast. Fatal flaw.
Joan will have a nice ending. They'll give it a try for most of the next year. By next summer, they will decide that they have to go their separate ways. Joan gave the franchise what they expected. It won't be an embarasment like G &T. And our attention will turn to whoever is picked to be the 2nd Golden Bach.
