You do realize that the fact that SJC has beating the OC local HS teams that consider themselves HS lacrosse royalty has impacted their recruiting of incoming 9th graders? That plus the fact that Coach Speaks spends his summers going to tournaments and recruiting, while other coaches are obviously too lazy to be bothered, has gotten SJC some of the best middle school talent in the area. A lot of Mater Dei families choosing Coach Speaks and SJC this go around - that kills the administrations that are used to getting those families based solely on name recognition. SJC just out working others on and off the field.
It has nothing to do with Speaks "out working" other coaches, SJC is just operating by a different set of rules.
