Why is it always men or former men that get all the attention. Everyone talks about Drag Queens while Drag Kings are virtually ignored. Everyone talks about trans women while trans men are again virtually ignored.

How many trans women lead women organizations compared to trans men who have authority in any male institutions?

Um, have you ever been to a drag show? Or a drag story hour? Because I have been to lots and they are pure camp and theater. The equivalent of dudes wearing Halloween costumes. Nothing sexualized, just fun. If anything they are kind of corny. Yes, raunchier drag shows exist but those are kept to adult clubs. Everything I’ve seen has been very PG.


If you don’t think that there are raunchy drag shows with kids attending then you have not been paying attention…. Join twitter and you can see. It’s not trending in a good direction

I would bet I’ve been to more drag shows than most of us in here. Everyone one I’ve been to would not be something I’d take a young child to. The clips going around social media are par for the course for this entertainment. There are just somethings that aren’t appropriate for children. But then again I don’t think many minds will be changed around this.




OK well don’t do it then. Problem solved. Why do we need to spend legislative time on this again?

I’ve been to tons of drag shows, at night and in the daytime. I’ve heard a few innuendos during between-song banter, but otherwise they’ve been very tame. Just dudes singing in wigs and fabulous outfits.

Yes! As the mom of a young girl I’m a lot more worried about the larger cultural pressures to be hot/sexy and objectification of women - which is EVERYWHERE, EVERY DAY - than drag queens, which despite the fear-mongers’ claims, are not taking over our towns. They don’t just pop up and start twerking at the pumpkin patch, people.

Many churches work for all the causes you listed above. Why isn’t BIG SASS virtue signaling about those things?? Because everyone is a victim, everyone except children. Hire a clown then to read to your children. Drag originated in clubs, time and place matter. Leave kids alone.
