Today Kate Manne published a Substack post about Katie Johnson’s allegations against Trump. It includes a lot of backstory on both Johnson’s allegations and other allegations of sexual assault against Trump, then a transcript of Johnson’s story as taken from a video statement. For me, the Trump background was old news but I didn’t know anything about Katie Johnson beyond “she alleged rape but withdrew her court case.”

I hated reading the details, but I feel like, for those who can stomach it, it’s part of the task of bearing witness on behalf of the victims. All the abusers, including Trump, deserve to be seen without their mask of civility and judged accordingly.

This seems like a plausible guess but also supports the theory that “blowing” (or whatever specific term was used, I forget) was meant in the sense of giving outsized attention to a potential donor.

Wow. So basically it's an acknowledgement that Anita Hill's accusations about Justice Thomas were in fact true and Thomas laughed about it with others - and then lied under oath during his confirmation hearing.
