Do we think there's any chance that the files don't actually implicate Trump in any of Epstein's pedo ring activities, but DO implicate Trump for a bunch of other crimes that we already know he engages in.

Like maybe Epstein talks about a formal or de facto quid pro quo with Trump where he funnels money to his campaign or businesses in exchange for Trump protecting him during his presidency. This is 100% in keeping with how we know Trump operates all over the place, not just with Epstein, but it's rare to see it outlined clearly in print with a smoking gun email.

Also keep thinking about the SC ruling that Trump can't be held criminally liable for anything he does as president, and the degree to which that vote was made to protect SC members.

I don't know, my mind goes wild with possibilities just like everyone else's, which is why the only way we'll ever stop the conspiracy mongering is to release all the files and let the public see. No one ever articulates a clear, valid reason why they can't do this. They just yell "hoax" and run away.

My guess is, he says this, even though he has the power to order the files released, but at the same time has Bondi announce some sham "investigation" and then shrugs and says "hey I tried but now the files are sealed, nothing I can do" - because he doesn't actually want the files released but has to have some way to give himself cover.

It's amazing that Trump can give Argentina $40 billion in taxpayer money, levy tariffs on our allies and shutdown USAID without consulting Congress, but he "is powerless" to release the Epstein files.

Maxwell was still under investigation by the DOJ until Trump killed it when he took office in January. Trump could have released it then, but it has been a hit potato and now he has called for investigations into "democrats" to further stymie the release. Why not release the files that are not pertinent to the recently called for investigations?

I would guess it is likely. All democrats wil vote for it and the Republican senators facing re-election in 2026 will be scared not to.

The Senate is not required to take it up even if the House passes it.
