I seriously think that Jen’s next big book project will be some kind of manifesto, post FFF. She will come up with a clever title and write about how it carried her through the toughest season of her life .

It’s too bad that she feels the need to reissue former books with new edits /commentary, like 7. Did Simple and Free have good sales? I mean heck Jen, just say I wrote what I knew and believed at the time . She doesn’t have to denounce everything.

Whoa I am surprised at the lack of any comments or engagement with her recent posts (besides the Taco Bell- hey look at my boyfriend aren’t we cute post) . I thought I was the only person turned off (no pun intended ) by the word “cliterate”.
Possibly the worst portmanteau ever invented ?

The thing about Jen is she has no real POV anymore besides, "Give yourself grace if you're a cute hot mess like me trying to adult the best you can! Raise your hand if you buy Uncrustables and go to Taco Bell, ladies!"

This "making everyday things dramatic and zany!" is tired and boring.

I'm really wondering if this is something that she had to do before, or is her engagement down that much that she's had to resort to paying to get her posts in front of people? The last one I saw had been up for almost a day and had about 36 comments. I can remember anything she posted having hundreds of comments within hours.

Maybe it's just a shift in social media, with most of the action happening on Instagram, but it seems like her 'brand' may be struggling. Perhaps it's due to her shifting views, perhaps it's due to her shilling, or any number of other things. But could it also just be that celebrity works differently these days? It seems like a lot of the women's authors in that 30-40 year old age range have operated much more like influencers than authors. They gained popularity based on blog posts, or other social media platforms in more recent years, cranked out a few books, and then slowly faded away. Does anyone even remember Ann Voskamp any more? But on the older sphere you still have the Beth Moores, Kay Arthurs, and more who still seem to be going strong even if their audience or views have shifted.

I think Jen needs to prepare for the possibility of a career shift. She's struggling enough just being an almost-50 year old influencer. I don't think she can maintain this for that many more years, especially as social media continues to change and grow. She's aged out. She needs a solid body of writing underneath her and she doesn't have that. She sold her books on the basis of her name, but the underlying writing isn't the sort that will still grip you years down the road. It's the type that you read in another 20 years and think 'wow, that's dated.' Not so much in terms of the message, but in the way she writes.

Yep. What is Jen Hatmaker? Her current phase isn’t working, that’s for sure? Vulgar sex coach life coach cooking book cruise queen to the corneaters?

Her prime years had a real authentic voice. Christian Bible Teacher Mom and Wife with some sassy edge.

Now? She’s just a cloying influencer trying to milk her diminishing “tribe” 24 7.

I mean this sincerely, who would pay to go on a cruise with the Hatmaker clan? If you’re reading this and you have put down the deposit/paid the fees, what are you looking for specifically to get for your money?

What activities involving her will happen on the cruise? Lectures? Meals?

Yeah the latest pitch sounds like she needs to fill cabins, stat. First a girls cruise, and now, please invite your entire family and contacts list!

As a healthcare professional, I can confirm that 99% of the population is not sexy just for being alive. I've never been more turned off. So much poop and vomit! I really like my patients but I've never been more turned off by nudity in my life.

Yeah, most of the time, these celebrity cruises are maybe double what you could do on your own. This one is far beyond that. There's no way I'd shell out money for this when I could do so many other travel options for longer and for less.

$1k for a boat ride to Cozumel?! Seems very steep.
Also did anyone else look at the pricing and see the $200 "conference fee?" What a scam this all is!

Tacky SIL? You mean Drew’s wife? What’s the scoop???

Rémy and Sydney (and probably Sydney’s partner) are going as Jen specified that her daughters would be there.

I doubt she could get her parents anywhere near that Cruise. Probably her tacky sil and her 2 sisters.

This is the first I’ve heard about her family going on the cruise. I thought it was just a big friends cruise. Has she now guilted her parents and siblings into coming to fill the spaces?

Jen once posted that her children were disgusted by her posting pictures of her kissing Brandon….

No Jen, everyone is not sexy. You’ve more than proven this in the last 48 hours alone.

Jen must be a sad and deep but quiet source of sadness for her sweet parents. So revolting and gross.
