What was Ron DeSantis doing for months with Halsey Beshears’s financial records before releasing them to the public? The delay in releasing them may have violated Florida public records laws. Beshears was named in a grand jury subpoena, along with Matt Gaetz, as part of an ongoing federal investigation into sex trafficking. DeSantis appointed him Secretary of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation but he resigned a year ago for “personal health reasons.”

So people are pleading out and you think it’s nothing.

I dislike him but I definitely don’t want him to have preyed on underage girls. And all the reporting seems fairly clear that he was doing just that. And all the people around him are taking plea deals and talking.

Make sure you don’t pick up a soft-Republican source like Wapo or NYT. It will make your eventual surprise that much sweeter.
That’s my point. People around him are pleading and saying they’re talking and the PP wants to pretend he’s not guilty, that we’ve made it all up out of some wistful hope. It’s weird and it’s absolutely a denial of reality on his part.

Federal investigations take a long time. A lot of it is waiting 60-90 days for a response to a subpoena, then finding evidence, or a hint of evidence, and sending out more subpoenas, then waiting on those, etc.

The bond hearing for Josh Duggar was very interesting. They had to explain why it took 18 months from the time their raided his car lot before charging him.
