Nor do they use the same funeral services. Found this out when my white father died and used a black funeral home. His family from rural VA was surprised, to say the least.

Unless they are Catholic. There are parishes that are historically majority AA, but we’re much more integrated than other denominations. Even during the Jim Crow era, my mom’s parish had Irish priests and nuns. DH’s parents’ rural Deep Southern parish was completely integrated, though the large number of mixed race people was partially responsible..

Somebody mentioned the funeral home thing to me and I was genuinely shocked.

I thought RIP mean Real Important Person, like a variation of VIP. I always wondered why it was on tombstones.

I just learned this last Thursday.

Wow.

I feel so stupid by never assuming otherwise.

Wouldn't washing with just water do the same then?

b = tablespoon (tbl); and p = teaspoon (tsp)

BUt it's:

Annie, are you ok?
So, Annie are you ok
Are you ok, Annie
Annie, are you ok?
So, Annie are you ok
Are you ok, Annie
Annie, are you ok?
So, Annie are you ok?
Are you ok, Annie?
Annie, are you ok?
So, Annie are you ok, are you ok Annie?

It’s not?

It’s are you ok? I misunderstood the previous poster. I always thought it was “ok.”

From wiki: The famous chorus refrain, "Annie, are you OK?", was inspired by Resusci Anne, a dummy used in CPR training.

I just learned this and the extend of Michael Jackson’s humor today, is it is true. I used to always think, who is Annie??

I don’t know what he was talking about in that song. And I assume Billie Jean was a stalker trying to say he got her pregnant.

American majority culture does not reciprocate unlike my culture. If I give an expensive gift, they will not give a similarly expensive gift back to me, nor they will give any gift. If I call people for dinner, they will come without a hostess gift and they will never give us an invite. If they take favors from me that does not mean that they will greet me or show me that they recognize me the next time they see me. Americans can spend money on themselves but not as good hosts. Hospitality is unknown in this culture.

I stopped associating socially with most of them now.

You’re hanging with the wrong Americans.

(I’m a lifelong anxiety sufferer lol.)

Aww. I’ve been diagnosed with anxiety too, and this made me laugh. Funny, I’ve totally put an anxious spin on unloaded comments in songs.

Happy holidays!
