We like DC’s current team and coach but have some concerns about whether it makes sense long term. I think a lot of changes are coming to teams next year anyway. GFR is not so good right now in my DC’s age group so could be an opportunity to get a lot of playing time right away. But would be hesitant to go there without a good coach and at least the possibility of a pathway (have one at current club even if it’s mostly marketing).
The challenge is, if GFR is a reasonable drivable distance, their rumored alliance partner is likely not. Getting to Woodbridge or Haymarket 4x per week from northern Fairfax would be brutal.

Agree but the advertised pathway tends to attract stronger players to the RL teams than if there’s no pathway.

There was a pathway with NVA and I think you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone at GFR who noticed a positive impact.

The directors at NVA surely noted a positive impact in their mortgage payments

+1

We’re also at failing feeder club for a local ECNL club. Never considered GFR since they have no allianced pathway but we may have to give them a second look.

Valor?

It’s definitely one of those feeders.

It wouldn't. Bethesda would make more sense and is more likely.

Bethesda makes more geographic sense? Bethesda is a false flag. VDA + GFR is in the works.

Wow. So dumb.

Don't shoot the messenger. It's happening folks. No need to get mad about it. It will be a net positive for all involved.

What role has PA had with any of this? This smells of the existing, failing regime making a big move before she gets the keys.

This is bullshit. PA is starting Monday and doubtful RS pulled off anything like this. My understanding is he's had his hands tied from making any club decisions or handling of money for months by the BoD.

Welcome back ML. See you’re jumping over to this thread now. This must really upset your prospects of a new club. Failed before it even started.

GFR has done a number of pathways and all the time pulling out after realizing it doesn't get them anything.

GFR is fine at RL level. The better kids will go to NL teams and the rest will stay.
