I’m a teacher who doesn’t get overtime. My pay would easily double if I got paid for the Saturdays and Sundays I work.

But that doesn’t mean I’m going to disparage officers for their overtime. They do a job I would never want to do.

I’ve never had to do a wellness check just to find somebody’s beloved grandmother rotting in a house.

I’ve never had to respond to a domestic, having to usher a beaten woman to safety.

I’ve never had to try to stop a stab wound from taking a young life, hoping paramedics can jump in soon.

I haven’t had to comfort a distraught mother whose child has gone missing for days.

I haven’t had to direct traffic in a dangerous storm, risking myself in a flash flood.

All of these are things police officers I personally know have done. I know posters here like to scream that officers simply eat donuts and violate people’s rights, but I don’t fall for that narrative. I guess knowing people makes it hard to hate them.

Currently arresting 6000 illegals a day with 10,000 additional ICE agents, they will arrest 50,000 a day illegals.

Salaried employees that work more than 40 hours a week are essentially indentured servants. The working man is a sucker. Hour 41 should not only be compensated, it should be paid at a multiple.

ICE is about the only good law enforcement besides BP, but many BP are compromised and on the take now.

And I say this as a child of immigrants. Parents are even more pro-BP/ICE than us.

Sadly, as a foreigner on a visa, I've had to deal with abusive border control officers at certain border checkpoints coming into the US. I've witnessed them make unfounded accusations that are later reversed by their supervisors, and I've witnessed them screaming in people's faces, while they're holding young children and babies.

So you need to understand that certain psychological profiles which thrive on domination and bullying tend to flock to these professions. It's not just the decent, upright men and women who desire to serve their communities, saves people's lives, and catch "bad guys". In some of these people's minds, "bad guys" can mean whoever doesn't look like them. And in certain cases, they don't care who they bully, they get a thrill out of it, and are unleashed on whoever their superiors decide can be mistreated. Sadly, in these benighted times, there are a lot of people that suddenly seem to be OK to treat in an inhumane manner.

Yes their own upbringing has so much to do with it. There are a few rare ones who are not this way
