You know, this is a really good point.

I remember watching the Republican debates for president in 2016. There were 17 candidates on stage, including heavy weights like Jeb Bush and Chris Christie - but only one person was riveting -- and it was Donald Trump. And some of the things he was saying sounded crazy, but he beat them all, and then went on to beat Hilary. So I think you're on to something

You equate restricting ownership of assault rifles to abolishing the 2nd Amendment. Do you also support the right to open carry hand grenades? Rocket launchers?

In the hands of law abiding citizens, yes. After all private ownership of cannon during the revolutionary war allowed for the capture of British cannons. Those captured British cannons along with cannons supplied by the French helped Washington to defeat the British on land and at sea.

I'll keep that in mind whenever China or Russia attacks us with cannons.
