I just checked it for myself. I'm a parent and my husband and I both got "E" licenses ages ago to coach rec. Neither of us appear. I have a current safe sport (team manager) and I don't appear for that either, so I logged in toGotSport and it is current with its green "Fulfilled" box and an expiration date in July. I know how to spell both of our names, I know the variations we "go by" though I doubt we would have used those, and I have the certificates sitting in the same place as birth certificates and car titles, so they do exist. Maybe this site does not have things going back a ways? I don't know but something is not exactly right there. I may email them and ask...

That is an interesting list that PP added, but it only shows licenses through US Soccer. There are a lot of different licenses out there, including European ones and various other platforms such as the US Soccer coaches courses, in addition to Coerver badges. One of the licenses this won't show is a National Youth License, which is fairly popular in the youth ranks. So, worth a look but it does not mean a particular coach has no licenses, it just means they didn't get whatever they might have through US Soccer, if that makes sense. Coaches who are listed may have other ones that don't show up on there too. I would add that having a license does not necessarily make you a great coach. One of the worst coaches my son ever had held an A license. How he got it, I don't know. His game was long-ball-over-the-top and his training was fitness (I guess so you could chase the ball all game).
As to SafeSport it is required every year. Even U18 players have to do it now.

Soooo many aren't listed at all!
Most of the others only have BS licenses like "online 9 v 9".

If a coach doesn't pop on that site, then check with the TD about their qualifications. Some coaches have conversational (abbreviated) names they use in place of their full name for instance. Some have had name changes as well. Hopefully you're paying for a pro that actually is certified in some regard, even if it's an F license.

Also don't forget to check the SafeSport violations list.

If it isn't at least pulling up a current safe sport listing, then no, he isn't allowed to coach. Yikes, Valor.

Most of the low level Valor coaches aren't listed on that site at all and if they are, they don't have a D license.

A minimum of a D. I also don't think a higher license indicates that a coach with an A is better than one with a C. I think experience goes a long way.
