They seem overworked and no one is posting about them?

I CONSTANTLY hear about how teachers are exhausted / overworked etc etc. Teachers complain more than any other profession I can think of. If anything, this is OVER acknowledged.
If the title has been “why does no one acknowledge how overworked nurses/childcare workers/sales managers/etc are”, you would have had my attention
This is the schools and education forum. Why would there be a thread on overworked sales managers or nurses? If you aren’t interested in issues related to education, there are millions of other places to look.

Do you really? You really hear this constantly? Where are you that you hear this constantly?
I’m a teacher. I follow a lot of teacher forums. Even I don’t hear this “constantly”.
This thread is about overworked teachers. Guess what? We’re overworked. If you would like to start a thread about overworked nurses/childcare workers/ sales managers/etc, you are welcome to do so.
As the supportive person that I am, I’d comment in support of those workers. It seems most of the posters on this thread are unwilling to give teachers that respect. I suppose the elementary “if you can’t say anything nice…” doesn’t apply here.

They did teach. Their employers set the conditions of their employment, not you. Enjoy staying ignorant.
Most did not teach and did not oppose the teaching bans.
The profession is dead.
Stats please.
What teaching bans?
Been in a cave last couple years?
Anonymous wrote:So we have been arguing for 41 pages teachers, what can parents realistically do to improve conditions? I voted for a school board that I thought would support teachers. I would gladly vote for more funding for our local schools. I believe that we need smaller class sizes, particularly in ES. I have addressed the behavior problems in my kids that have been brought to my attention.
But, I will defend my kids when appropriate. Having been lied to several times by trusted adults about their behavior, I will ask questions and not just assume that you are right and they are wrong.(On the flip side, I won’t assume that they are right and you are wrong). And I won’t allow my kid to pick on other kids, but since the schools can’t stop the mean girl crap, I have given my DD permission to defend/protect herself as necessary, even if she too has to be mean in the process.
The people in charge of the system have pitted teachers against parents when really, we are all stuck in the same broken system trying to get through it. These fights are a distraction from the real problem. So how do we work together to actually fix things?

Nope. And some of who agree with the teacher aren’t even teachers. We’re just - gasp! - rational parents.
