Can't wait to see how Pelosi rationalizes a flip flop on this statement she made just a year ago.

But last year, Pelosi poured cold water on the idea -- saying that such a move was something reserved for an act of Congress, not the executive.

"People think that the President of the United States has the power for debt forgiveness; he does not," Pelosi said in July last year. "He can postpone, he can delay, but he does not have that power. That has to be an act of Congress."

She also appeared to question whether such a policy was fair.

"Suppose…your child just decided they, at this time, [did] not want to go to college but you’re paying taxes to forgive somebody else’s obligations. You may not be happy about that," she said, before adding that she does not want children to be prohibited from going to college for financial reasons.

And some CHOSE not to! It’s ok to do that too. But now we don’t have student loan debt and have to help pay for those that DID choose to go to college. We live the way we want to, but don’t want to pay for others to live the way they want to . The entitlement mentality in this country will do it in mark my words.

The White House’s plans are only expected to apply to Americans earning under $125,000 per year, or $250,000 per year for married couples who file taxes jointly, the people familiar said.

I already paid mine off! I too sacrificed luxuries. But I know other people are suffering under the debt and not just unable to take a vacation or drive a new car. They aren’t freeloaders either.

Agree. Reese Witherspoon could have used her own money to keep her ugly clothing line going or just declared bankruptcy. Companies shouldn’t be bailed out.
