All of this happened AFTER the Palestinian leadership rejected the UN mandated 2 state partition and launched attacks on Israelis.

Meanwhile, the nascent Israeli leadership accepted the partition.

So, yes, Israeli extremist militias committed atrocities against Palestinians. But the Palestinian leadership (and their Arab allies) created the initial conflict in rejecting the UN's action and attempting to extirpate Israel.

Also, forgot another anecdote, my 6 year old cousin was butted with the end of a rifle and 4 of his baby teeth were knocked out because he had the unfortunate circumstance of playing near some nasty IDF soldiers. When my aunt ran outside to get her son, they pointed their rifles and her and told her to watch, then aimed at my cousin who was crying in pain. The solider who did it said it was only baby teeth and that he didn’t mean it (while laughing). He screamed at him to stop crying or he would shoot my cousin in the head. Palestinians have many of these stories. Zionists know this happens on a daily basis and laugh about it.

You should watch the Netflix show Mo about a Palestinian American. It's actually a comedy/dramedy mini series, but The second season came out this week, and there is a scene similar to this where Mo's autistic adult brother gets followed by a autistic settler boy and when they return the boy back to the dad, the settler pulls out his rifle and tries to shoot. Another scene where they are at an Israeli airport and airport security breaks the VCR on purpose of Mo's dead dad's home videos after Mo tells security that's the only video he has of his father.
I think small indignities like this in passing make an impression on people more than war does. It makes them not see Israelis in a positive light at all which I can't imagine is a good thing for Israel's general safety.
