depends.. are you a HP ELITE player? Did you give your donations to Quan?

Is that how I get him to answer my email?

Hate to break it to you but if you don't know Quan on first name basis or you child never did HP Elite you are NOT going to get VDA

As a VDA parent I will say people have no idea how bad VDA is when it comes to politics. We have been lucky but I do feel bad for some of the other players who get benched for reasons I will not say. Be careful when you come to VDA and make sure its a wise decision for your family

Can you tell us more? Im actually interested in reading what you have to say

Girls/boys, age group, etc?

^I want to learn about this too before I decide to sign my DD. What is the clubs criteria for playing time? How do they select the start 11 for each game? are the start 11 the same players in all games? What’d happen if my daughter signs and finds out she is a benched player and is not given enough playing time to keep her development on track? Can I pull her out of the team and stop paying fees? I’d be really upset to ride to games and see my DD not playing. I am now really worried because there are many skilled tall and physical girls that will make ithe team.

I don’t understand this new idea that in a top platform your child deserves equal playing time it’s just isn’t the case they have to earn playing time they have to work hard if you wanna be top 11 if not go play at a lower level it’s a simple as that.

^^ Tough crowd...as usual though.

If your DD is unsure if she wants to play DA/ECNL, take her out to a training session. Just reach out to the coach. Their email addresses are on the websites. She'll learn first hand if she can hang or not.

Someone said DA teams have rules that all players get to play but ECNL does not have those same rules. Can anyone confirm/deny? I'm wondering if you have a DD who is not a regular starter if you would get more playtime on a DA team than on an ECNL team.

DA has a guideline that all players start at least 25% of games. If a player does not hit that 25% minimum they are free to look at other DA clubs without asking permission to do so.

If you are truly concerned about this you should not be looking at a DA or ECNL program

Big fish in a little pond is better for some!

DA and ECNL are tough environments with very good players for the most part. This area is watered down some, but pretty good across the board.

Instead of asking questions on an online anonymous forum, why don’t you email your daughter’s age group coach or the director?

^^^suggestion: if there is time, attend some of the VDA practices and talk to parents. Ask them if their DD is a benched player and their experience. There is a player that came from VDA to our 06 team she had a horrible experience at that club. Benched player traveled to California and played less than ten minutes in whole tournament.

^^Answering one question, pay monthly, not all up front regardless of discount. It allows you flexibility if your kid is on the bench or politics playing a role.
