Kevin's last interaction with his Dad was a fight and he's held on to that his entire adulthood

How did Kate get so fat? As a teen, she looks like she could just lose 15 or so pounds and be at a normal weight. Do we think she gained so much becuase of Jack's death?

Kate as a teen didn't need to lose 15 pounds. She fit into a size 7 dress and she used layers and her hair to hide her body changes from the drastic dieting. I think Kate went from an eating disorder/body dysmorphia to compulsive eating when Jack died.

Me, too! When she was sitting next to the dog at the shelter, I could tell she was getting wobbly. I yelled at the TV, "Don't you crap out on this, Kate!"

With the older couple dancing to "That'll Be the Day" in the first scene, I was braced the whole episode for what had to be the rest of that line.

I'm glad Kate went back to get Audio the dog.

Yes I thought the older couple/selling house coincidence thing was kind of odd, not sure why they threw it in there, was it only to confuse us of the timeline for a couple minutes?

I found myself looking up fire escape plans this morning....

Did anyone else think that the older couple that gave Jack the crockpot was actually the older couple's house that Rebecca wanted to have Jack buy and rehab? It took me a minute to piece it all together.

And my father was a NYC firefighter, and the next show is my nightmare. I have always been TERRIFIED of fire - I can't even light a match.

Wonder if Rebecca thinks the fire started from not turning the crockpot off, without realizing that Jack had turned it off, so fire would have started either way.

PP, I think Kate went back for the dog, and he had to sacrifice his life for his daughter!

I've said it before, but I will be pissed if this is how he goes. A parent that weighs the risk of even remotely getting caught in a fire vs a kid's damn dog is an idiot.
