I was a little confused by this also. What was the scene with the paranoia at the cabin? The three locks? Did she have schizoid tendencies?
I took it more as showing how protecting her family was always on her mind and her top priority. How she was terrified of anything bad happening to them.
I cried at the ending when she cried when Randall told her how it must have been hard to keep that secret all those years.
I love how they are showing both sides and I get it. She was terrified of them taking away the child she had raised and as a result Randall grew up not knowing his father.

Agree with all of the above. I have been very impressed with Mandy Moore's acting. She is so believable.

You guys...one of the best scenes. Randall is practically yelling at them/her while the 80s family is happily playing games in the cabin. All of them, but especially Randall and Rebecca---amazing acting. Acting out different emotions right next to each other and with her not acknowledging him.

And Randall's father is great especially how he changes character from young to old. The kids are adorable too ! Especially young Randall and the young actor character. And I adore Randall's younger daughter. Soooo cute.
Does the same actor play both older and younger William?? I thought there was enough of a difference in how they looked that there had to be two different actors. William is actually old, and his younger counterpart was young. At least, I don't think it was just makeup!

But the whole point of her, is that she will never guns mentally change. She's one of those people who wants to be messed up, relish in unhappy things. Sorry he has to keep working with her.

The preview for next week appeared to show Kevin kissing someone, I'm hoping it's not Olivia.
He slept with Sloane the playwright who got stuck there when Asher and Olivia absconded with her rental car. I think she's the "normal" that Kevin referred to when telling off A/O - she wants to be with her sister who's giving birth and loves Epcot. She's sweet. Plus, she's Lily from the AT&T commercials.
What?! I love Lily from AT&T. I did not recognize her at all.
I had no idea that was Lily! I love her character too, very likable. I read somewhere a long time ago she emigrated from Israel but don't know how true that is. Too lazy to google!
