The Mayor's budget won't be released until March 24.
But it has to go to the printer now, so someone knows.
By how much did Bowser win the Murch precinct in the last election?
There's your answer on how much extra she has in her budget for the school.
Bowser won the primary by winning WOTP. Then she won the general by winning EOTP. She may need WOTP again in the next election.

I am not the PP, but will say that representatives from the auditor's office have begun attending SIT meetings at Murch. We were told that the office is finalizing plans for their next audit report and would like to include Murch. That is all there is to share right now. If people want more information, they should contact the Office of the DC Auditor.

What does that mean?
It's a follow on to the report released last year - supposed to be a deeper dive into some of the projects (Ellington was a focus on the first one). Here's an article from the City Paper in January on Patterson and her thoughts about the school modernization project.

OK, but what does that mean for the renovation as it happens?
Probably nothing. Remember what the auditor found for Ellington and it's proceeding apace.
Meaning that nothing will change for Ellington because of the school's special, uh, status. Overruns have baLoomed Ellington's cost to $200 million and yet DC continues to write blank checks for it. But DCPS will choose to make an example of Murch if they find amy contracting issues with the Murch project.
