What is a soccerwire?
How are they officially affiliated with FIFA and USA Soccer?
If your kid isn't at this level or selected to play for a USYNT, why are you talking crap and bragging about what some MLS academies may or may not be doing?
Honestly, you're just a troll. The point about DCUs quality has been made and proven over and over.
DCU IS NOT A GOOD ACADEMY. PLAIN AND SIMPLE
Bunch a rec player fathers giving their uneducated soccer opinions using all caps makes no difference.
This won't make you feel better about your kid not being good enough. But keep trying.
Plain and Simple.
No MLS Academy is churning out professional players to top tier clubs.
So whether your kid is at an academy subjectively ranked bottom, middle or top in MLS... the outcome after U18 is pretty much the same.

If you're claiming you visited academies in 20 countries and all you saw were state of the art modern facilities and fields, you must also have a part time job selling sand in the dessert and the Brooklyn Bridge to tourists.
Or you were extremely selective in where you went (benefit of the doubt)
NO. I'm saying the facilities I've seen are better than DCUs. Some good, some average some basic. All better than what DCU has.
Maybe the rest of MLS academies should have facilities like the ones you saw, since none of them are sending players to top level professional clubs consistently.
The rest of the MLS academies have equivalent facilities. Some better, some worse. Again, all better than DCU. You can't win.
Academies are measured by
1. Number of players signed to Professional Ranks (premier divisions)
2. Revenue generated by sale of players to Professional Clubs
They could be training on pristine hybrid turf or concrete. Doesn't matter.
And both of those statistics are crap for DCU. Next

If your kid hasn't been at the dcu academy within the past 2 years or left dcua for a high rated academy internationally, you're posting hearsay and gossip.
People with serious academy level kids don't care about 99.5% of the entitlement and spoiled privilege whining here from people who have nothing to do with that level of youth soccer development commitment.
If your kid is good enough to be chosen as one of the few at dcua, but you don't want to take your kid there,
go elsewhere.
Free country.
If your kid was at dcua and it wasn't the right fit or they underperformed or lacked the proper mentality and were cut, then move on with your life.
Or is this something your therapist recommended?

Ask your DS because they are in the know. And I agree with a PP, the DCUA players are the ones keeping them afloat.
How would a kid who hasn't been in a stellar academy elsewhere know where they are is less than stellar?
Hmm maybe because they don't live under a rock and they talk to other high level players about their experiences elsewhere. Just a hunch...Also, the DCU kids go to the other academy facilities when they travel and are like DAMN. What we have is garbage compared to this.
Thats impressive that the academy games at Philly and NY are at better facilities than Segra Stadium 🏟 where Loudon United plays USL home games.
Key word, Loudoun United field. Or VA Revolution field. If they can't get those, Soccer Plex. The first 2 stadiums are pretty nice though. But it's not DC Uniteds field.
How does the name on the field make a difference?
The comments of the person with a weird obsession personal grievance against the academy said that the DCU kids go to play at other academies and realize where they play at home is bad.
They play at Segra Field Stadium.
Is that a crappy facility or not?
No one said anything about where they play their home games. Name on the field doesn't matter. You're missing the point. We are talking.about the FACILITIES overall. When the kids walk into say, Atlanta United campus, they know they are in a class facility. It's obvious. Same with red bulls, union Montreal, Toronto, (insert any other academy besides DCU here) It's like walking into a Ritz Carlton coming from a Red Rood Inn. Or even worse coming from having nothing. DCU doesn't have a facility at all so it's not a hard conclusion to draw. Playing games at a USL field is pretty cool actually but it doesn't overcome the fact that DCU has no facility for the players. That by itself is a travesty. Google MLS academy facilities or watch videos on YouTube. The difference in what DCU has and others is MASSIVE. FC Cincinnati is even ahead and they are a new club.
All these suburban soccer dads with the brooks brothers and golfdom matching outfits talking about how pretty facilities need to be to produce top level professionals
In real football world, the professional leagues in south america and europe have many top tier players who trained and played all or most their lives at below average non-frills fields and facilities.
That was 20 years ago. Sorry to tell you. Now, if you're good, you're going to a better academy with facilities in all of those countries. Just like players were smoking in the locker room in the 80s... Times have changed.
You can type anything you want. Doesn't make it accurate.
How many academy facilities that produce top division professionals from Serbia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Croatia,Czechia, Uruguay, Brazil are you personally familiar with?
You think they all look like Bayern Munich academy because you're ignorant.
Nope they don't all look like Bayern. But they all look better than what DCU has which is literally NOTHING.

Mr verified facts guy with the predictable response! 👏
Don't know who that is, but what's said is factual, or you don't know football outside your McLean bubble
