Keep in mind, areas like Long Island don’t have the same private school emphasis like D.C. or Baltimore. Most kids go to their local pubic school as these schools are usually very good at lacrosse.

Why include all the Baltimore and Annapolis clubs?

Capital started out quick as girls committed in the 1st week of being able to talk to anyone, so they've been comparing it against competition as a flex. Though several will ultimately surpass them, one already has.

Nobody is doing anything as a flex. It is simply information that many people enjoy having. People with younger children, figuring out what to do for high school. People with high schoolers that like to see what’s going on around the area. Not sure why anybody would think anybody is trying to flex.

If you think that listing out all of these commitments from all of these different clubs as a flex for anybody, you are crazy. Signed parent of an uncommitted 26 that is still happy for all of this information and does not see it as a flex at all.

Concur. I am a parent of an unsigned 26 and its helpful for our process to know what is going on with other girls. Not to mention we know many of these girls and their families and have played with them since elementary school so its nice to see where everyone lands. I am truly happy for the girls who are committing. I can assure you that any parents on here flexing are not the parents of these top recruits.

A quick look at Yale, Penn, Harvard rosters, and you do see a fair amount of public school players. They do tend to come from affluent areas like Darien, New Canaan, Ridgewood, Summit, or strong lax areas like Long Island or upstate New York. Maryland has strong public’s as well like Severna Park. Locally, McLean, Langley, have players on those Ivy rosters. It seems the common thread is affluence.

It’s easier for college coaches to get approval for verbally committing players from private schools where an academic pre-read is part of the process. These colleges are familiar with many of the private schools and often know the level of academic rigor. Public school grades are less reliable - its not as easy for colleges to know what a grade from a public means, if it’s a good high school with high standards.
