it looks like on the Valor website they are having this event again even though it was so trashy. poor rec kids.

HAHA! They changed the logo from offensive to inoffensive. We know they read the comments on here. That thing was so cringe.

To be fair, it sounds like Valor paid their refs before FPYC did. At least they did one thing right.

We received our checks for the FDT today. There was a typed note in the envelope apologizing for the delay. At least they acknowledged it.

Wow! That's pretty bad.

Teaching your kid patience and deferred gratification. It will come. If it's a big deal to your kid, give your kid the money and then keep the check when it comes in.

Are you serious? The refs worked and should be paid timely. Not whenever the club gets around to it.

(waits for Valor marketing person who pretends to be a happy parent to rush in and post that their kid reffed and was paid promptly that day in cash with a hefty tip...)

I can't believe that one Valor dude pretending to be a parent hasn't popped up in here yet to tell us his kid reffed and was paid in cash that day with a big tip added on.

So the only single one good thing about the Valor tournament compared to FPYC is that they possibly paid their referees more promptly.

+1. I wouldn't think referees quit because the they aren't paid quickly. As long as they know it will come, it's fine...unless you depend on the income of course, then I could see it being a problem.

My daughters are in the same boat. Earlier emails went unanswered. Just this past week they said they could pick up the checks or they would be mailed soon. Far too long to wait. Didn’t have this issue last year. Not sure they’ll do it again after this.
