Have been told this by several D1, D2 and D3 college coaches. They’re not there to watch the whole team nor do they care about the outcome of the game. They’re only concerned with the performance, behavior and attitude of the player(s) that they came to watch.

Arguing about GA and ECNL doesn’t really matter - the bread and butter are kids that don’t want to play with sherms in rec leagues but want to play in a regional sport. Parents want close and secure field space, trustworthy and capable coaches, and a vision bigger than getting kids half scholarships at William and Mary. Loco peeps can pay for college.
STJ just pissed away almost $800k in recurring revenue that they really didn’t do anything for. Didn’t help get fields, coaches, players, or rent any actual space at the STJ facility. I assume CC, Bobby, and others saw the uselessness of playing under a barnacle.
The real knife is promoting AB to any sort of leadership position. Dude lost all the Barca boys that were gifted to FCV, is almost blacklisted at Loudoun PRCS, and is widely known as an ultra-right wing Loco reply guy on Facebook (of course, with FCV right below his name for everyone to see).
Everyone doesn’t like NE at VRSC, but he has built an environment that kids and parents have fun at. I know you nerds lose sight of being normal people and live through your kids travel soccer team, but that’s what’s desired.
Honest question regarding the part about 'half scholarships at W&M.' What do you mean?
Totally agree with all of this.

Do a lot of ECNL and GA clubs use their connections to promote their players and help with college placement? Absolutely they do. And will playing in one of those leagues help get you more exposure than if you didn’t? Yep. Certainly a lot of D1 schools will primarily focus their recruiting on those leagues. But to say that playing in college requires a girl to play ECNL or GA is, at best, an uninformed opinion and at worst, just dishonest. There are plenty of players playing in college (admittedly more common at D2 and D3 schools) who don’t play in ECNL or GA.

2010 FCV vs ECNL (3-0-1)
FCV 1-0 over Arlington (ECNL Playoffs)
FCV 2-1 over FC Delco
FCV 1-0 over Bethesda (ECNL National Semis)
FCV 1-1 to Bethesda (ECNL National Semis)
But you know, only 1 or 2 players are good enough for local ECNL teams. Maybe they should just move over the entire team to ECNL-RL, that way regular ECNL teams wouldn't have to worry about losing to them.
2009 FCV vs ECNL (2-4-0)
FCV 3-2 over Bethesda
FCV 0-2 loss to PDA Blue (ECNL NATIONAL Champions)
FCV 0-1 loss to SUSA (ECNL Playoffs)
FCV 1-3 loss to NVA (ECNL Playoffs)
FCV 2-1 over NVA (ECNL Playoffs)
FCV 0-7 loss to Penn Fusion (Ouch, that's a bad one)
Despite the one blowout, the 09s still played close games to some of the very best ECNL teams. Looking at PDA's record, VDA also lost 2-0 at the same tournament to PDA Blue, but hey you know, FCV players aren't good enough for them either.
2008 FCV vs ECNL (2-1-3)
FCV 2-0 over PDA Blue (ECNL Playoffs)
FCV 2-0 over SUSA (ECNL Playoffs)
FCV 2-3 loss to NC Courage (ECNL Playoffs)
FCV 1-1 tie to SUSA (ECNL Playoffs)
FCV 0-0 tie to Penn Fusion (ECNL National Semis)
FCV 2-2 tie to PDA Blue (ECNL Playoffs)
Wins over ECNL Playoff teams and only one loss in 6 games to ECNL playoff teams, VA parents like "that's not good enough and only 1 or 2 of your players are worthy"
2007 FCV vs ECNL (2-3-1)
FCV 0-1 loss to PDA Blue (ECNL Playoffs)
FCV 2-1 over World Class (ECNL National Semis)
FCV 1-5 loss to Penn Fusion (ECNL Playoffs)
FCV 0-0 tie to SUSA (ECNL Playoffs)
FCV 2-1 over Penn Fusion (ECNL Playoffs)
FCV 1-2 loss to World Class (ECNL Playoffs)
I won't post 06/05s because most of them will be graduating and aren't part of the conversation. But in case you were wondering, they have a winning record against ECNL Playoff teams.
FCV vs. ECNL overall (9-8-5) ***should be noted almost all games were against ECNL playoff teams, but "your girls are only good enough for ECNL-RL teams"
Shame on your ignorance. Shame.
Cool stats! Let us know which ECNL club your DD joins!
If an ECNL team is playing FCV unless its at Jeff Cup, do any of these showcases games, pre/post season tournament results even matter? Good effort with all this data, I think you have some scrimmages included in there too very thorough attaboy... I hope the 1-2 FCV girls my DD team adds is a good fit and they are patient for playing time cause its a different league no matter what anyone says

Yes, they matter for the indiviudal players recruitment prospects not the outcome of the game so again, the point?

Compare placement coming out out GA and ECNL to USYS or NCSL. Sure it's possible, but any parent with a kid on that track is going to push them to a club where the path is straight forward rather than hoping they can be an extreme outlier.
