They were predicting roughly a 45% turnout last night. I think that number is either wrong or means something else.

Currently, Virginia’s abortion limit is at 26 weeks’ 6 days’ gestation. That limit would address your devastating diagnosis. I don’t see Rs succeeding in pushing back even if they had both upper and lower GA.

They have already proposed THREE abortion ban bills this year. They will do it if they hold the GA.

Did they succeed, though? Nope,

And this is why we need Democrats to hold the majority in at least one chamber. If GOP has trifecta, they will pass the most extreme bills. For all you folks claiming to want MODERATES, electing Democrats will serve as a check on GOP extremism. VA will still have Youngkin so you don't have to worry about the WOKE AGENDA.

Yes, how "moderate" are they.

They will prevent the religious extremists from banning/restricting abortion.

+1. Please vote D for state senate and delegate to keep abortion legal in the Commonwealth. If you want to vote R for all the local stuff, have at it.

Explain how a 15 week limit is a "ban?"
15 weeks is what most of the developed nations in the world recognize.

You need an explanation of your use of the word “limit?”

No limits. We won’t stand for it.

No limits. 8.5 months is fine with you?

Wow. Sick to the core.

No doctor would perform an abortion after the second trimester unless the health of the mother is at stake or the fetus isn't viable. YOu cannot name a single instance where such an elective abortion has taken place. So let's not be hyperbolic.

The GOP wants women to carry unviable fetuses to term or doesn't care if the life of the mother is at stake. Pro-life indeed.

Youngkins proposal would allow abortion after 15 weeks in instances of rape, incest and danger to the life of the women. So you should be good, right? Since no one is just getting an abortion for the heck of it at 8.5 months, according to you.

We don't trust you to stop there. With good reason.

And we don’t trust you or believe you when you say that “no one” gets abortion for the heck of it late in pregnancy. That if a known lie and you should stop kissing yourself. People absolutely do abort perfectly healthy babies in the 7th and 8th month. It’s disgusting and frankly your denial that this occurs tells me you aren’t comfortable with it either but rather than reconcile your desire for legal and safe abortion with a sensible limit on acces to them, you just twist the facts so you aren’t forced the think too hard. 15 weeks is a standard limit all over Europe and most of the civilized world. Those same countries that limit access to guns also have 15 week abortion bans. It’s totally reasonable.

Send us the list of abortion doctors in Virginia who will perform "abortion on demand" at 8 months for the sake of convenience?

Governor Northam is one.

Right. And he makes it a point to “keep the baby comfortable” before he kills it. I believe that was his direct quote.

You’re gullible, a liar, or both.

Gullible. Governor Northam’s comments were in regard to providing comfort care (palliative care) and not life-saving measures to babies born with terminal conditions who likely wouldn’t survive more than hours to a few days. Those comments were twisted to make it sound like he supported killing babies after birth, and people were dumb enough to believe that…including my parents, who blindly follow whatever Fox News tells them.

That’s one word for it.

Governor Northam is one.

Here is one where Northam is talking about a late term “abortion” after the baby has been born. I don’t think euthania is legal in Virginia so intentionally killing a child is actually murder. But your team has such strange definition of abortion and what it allows that you want to stretch abortion to include killing a baby after it has actually been born. Bananas.

Killing a baby after it has been born is either not happening at all, or murder. This is already punishable by law, and not what these abortion bans in other states are about, there is no need for a ban to make killing a born baby illegal. No sane physician even does any late term interventions for elective reasons.

In theory 15-19 weeks (before viability, which is constantly pushed to an earlier time, it used to be 24 weeks not to long ago, but now more 21-22weeks) would be doable, but “exceptions for life of the mother” is a vague and in medical reality difficult, and non-feasible as a law - because as a medical professional you want to intervene BEFORE the mother becomes deathly ill or is in a life threatening state. States where such exceptions have become law prove over and over again, that this is exactly what’s happening. Care is delayed, future fertility put at stake, life is threatened, all due to delay, waiting for the mother to deteriorate is NOT good medicine, obviously. On the other hand, there should be exceptions for a baby that is absolutely not going to live, pure torture for everyone involved to be forced to carry to term. In other words, I’d say “no” to elective abortions even sooner than 15-19 weeks, but all medically needed options need to remain open, and not “framed” vaguely by laws which do not account for the medical complexities we encounter in medicine.

Providing palliative care and comfort to a terminal infant isn't euthanasia. It is sadness, loss, grief.

The infant is “terminal” because he killed it! Idiot.

You are a disgusting liar. Knock it off.

No. Read what Northam said. He is basically saying that the baby is messed up somehow and they put it out of its misery. That is euthanasia and it’s illegal. So he calls abortion.

He never said this but you eat up the lies and vomit them back up as if you know what you’re talking about. Get your facts straight.

He literally described how he as an OB carried out late term abortion. But, he was very careful to assure us that the baby is “kept comfortable,” so I guess all is right in his world.

No, he literally did not. And he literally isn’t an OB. He described what happens after a woman goes into labor with a non viable fetus. After delivery yes, the baby is kept comfortable, and no, the baby isn’t killed. People like you are exactly why pregnancy healthcare decisions belong solely with a woman and her doctor.

+ a million

PP should count themselves lucky if they or their family haven’t had to sit and watch a newborn with no hope of life slowly suffocate and die within an hour of birth.
