Subject: The Last of Us - HBO TV show (With game spoilers)
The season is over already? I don't think I saw enough plot for it to be done. So, Joel died and they go to Seattle. It felt like they are building up to a major war with the zombies, but no new revelations are made on this front. What happened to the smart ones? We just know they exist? And that it can be airborne? This was lame.

NP. What an odd response. It’s absolutely appropriate and on topic when discussing a show to say that someone is a great actor in her past roles and they can’t wait to see her in this new role.

Season 3 is suppose to be about Abby. Good! I really don’t like the Ellie character. Self centered and b1tchy. And Bella can’t act. She has no facial expressions except when she smiles which is seldom. I still think they could pick a better actress

NP. Agree she hasn’t done much in TLOU so far, but she was fantastic in the other 2 things I’ve seen her in. One was the series Unbelievable (which is fantastic, FYI to anyone who hasn’t watched it) and the other was a movie whose title I forget but in which she acted the whole thing almost entirely alone and without dialogue. She’s one of the actors/actresses who I‘ll follow to almost any show to at least give it a try, just because she’s in it.
You should try Apple Cider Vinegar.
PP here. When she woke up in the last scene and said give me 5 minutes to wake up, she actually looked asleep, then something about her walk outside.

I’d commented earlier in the thread, but some things that made no sense, or were plot holes, I’d just have to ignore and let it go, because I still enjoyed it. For the finale, there were more than a few huh? moments for me. Here’s my grumpy list:
- Jesse and Ellie just chatting away while they made their way to the bookstore to meet up with Tommy, even walking down a Main Street in broad daylight when they know there are rival factions in the area.
- The five minute side quest to that island, where she was nearly hanged and disemboweled, and they just decided to let her go when they saw their village attacked. Made zero sense that they wouldn’t have quickly dispatched her and then left.
- Her impromptu boat driving and swimming survival skills in full gear.
- Dina and Ellie’s nicely washed and brushed hair throughout the episodes. Wouldn’t you at least tie it up if you were crawling around a lot of tight spaces where it could snag you? Or cut it short, so you wouldn’t have to deal with it. I’ll admit that one is extra picky.
- I loved Bella Ramsey’s performance in Game of Thrones and think she does a good job with the more emotional scenes in TLOU. But in the scenes where she’s in normal conversation, her line readings come across very monotone and flat to me. Especially when she’s in a scene with the actress playing Dina, who I think was the highlight of the season.
I’ll definitely watch season three, just hope there isn’t too much of a time gap.
W/o giving too many spoilers, I found the island/hanging scene odd as well. I don’t believe it appears in the game BUT it’s setting up a story line from Abby’s side for s3.
The only criticism I heard of Dina was about her hair 😂 too perfect. I watched lost recently and they do a great job of the “disheveled apocalypse” look. In the game Ellie has short hair (shoulderish) and it’s tied back somewhat. Dina wears a pony.
I hope there’s not a huge gap either but I’m not hopeful. They always take their sweet ass time.
