How is that different from white teens driving souped up monster trucks in middle America?

NP here. Monster trucks and Middle America are far outside my area of expertise but I'm guessing they do what they noisily do much farther from people's bedrooms than our own ATV-riding yokels.

The election is coming. Vote.
Our current leadership could care less about this - until there is a random shooting and toddler killed because of it.

Vote for WHO?

Vote with your feet.

Exactly. Just focusing on ATVs is just another racist dog whistle.

Is this a joke? Riding ATVs is extremely illegal, especially when they’re driven down the middle of major avenues by 12 year olds

No, sadly I believe previous PP believes all that crap.

It's our new pandemic.

Let me guess: you just moved here. I’ve been here for more than 20 years and I can tell you that children riding ATVs on the streets wasn’t a thing until a couple years ago. Everyone hates it except for the young white dumbasses like yourself who just got here.

This. Here for same amount of time and this was not a thing.

Park Police chase them down. Did you even watch the video?

Of course you didn't, you're a garden variety idiot.

White people in cars are evil incarnate.

Black children driving ATVs down the middle of major arteries are “urban culture.”

Got it.

(Are there people who are really this stupid?)

It is hard to believe, maybe a lot are just one poster?

Or raced down sidewalks and through alleys, blowing stop signs and taunting the police (who aren't allowed to pursue them), as happens in our neighborhood.

Take you tired race card and shove it.

Agree! You think their nonsense only impacts white people? They SHOT a black driver. They are damaging the National Mall and Rock Creek Park. DC has NEVER been a state and this was not this out of control issue until recently when enforcement against it stopped.

Allowing police chases endangers innocent suspects.

Or do you ultraMAGA types no longer believe in innocent until proven guilty?

The "no chase" policy makes no sense. So should police also no longer engage an active shooter because of possible cross-fire? If anything, this policy only emboldens ATV riders to be even more reckless.

Exactly this. And the ATV riders recently SHOT someone, so it's not even just the issue of noise, there are genuine safety risks to the way they ride and additional violence.

https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/driver-shot-by-atv-riders-in-southeast-dc/3078593/

They are also riding on the National Mall and in Rock Creek Park.

Right? c I’ve been a city dweller in SE my whole life and it’s still fked up. Seems you’re the one with the skewed, poor informed perspective. People pulling wheelies on atvs and actually running into people and maybe cars swerve off the road isn’t normal. It’s not hip. This doesn’t make you sound cool or like you’re “keeping it real” when you bash people complaining. You just sound annoying as fk.

This.

More and more people are leaving, white and black BOTH.

The population of the District of Columbia dropped by 20,043 residents in 2021, dropping the city's population to roughly 670,050, per Census data released last month. This 3% decline was the largest year-over-year drop in the country. The falling population was solely due to domestic migration, as 23,030 residents moved elsewhere in the country. https://dc.urbanturf.com/articles/blog/dc-lost-an-estimated-20000-residents-in-2021/19096#:~:text=The%20population%20of%20the%20District%20of%20Columbia%20dropped,as%2023%2C030%20residents%20moved%20elsewhere%20in%20the%20country.

There must be some invention the cops could use to flatten all the tires. Not the puncture strip things, but something. Or something that would lock up the wheels. That stuff needs to be locked down.

How exactly would you be innocent of driving an illegal ATV if you're driving it at the time the cops are trying to pull you over? What scenario would that be?

Because innocent until proven guilty, dumb dumb!

Yeah they’re not being tried in a court. They’re being pulled over on reasonable suspicion of a crime. And could be pursued for fleeing. Clearly you have no idea WTF you’re talking about.
