I don’t believe this. In Los Angeles we were up to over 40,000 cases a day and even then, we barely had any cases after school. I’m in Los Angeles and was scared and didn’t leave the house for 18 months. Now I don’t give a F and just went or a lakers game, mask free. It’s over 90 degrees here and I’m never wearing a mask again!

Agree, very strange. Maybe it’s a group of friends who met at OA or something and have a lot of preexisting conditions. Everyone I know who has had Covid (dozens, including old/obese/cancer patient) are all fine. The virus was worse than a bad flu but they all recovered without long Covid.

I have a family member who taught school in Northern VA in her early 50s who is fully vaccinated and was on a ventilator. She is not teaching due to long covid and carries an oxygen tank. I’m not saying this to be dramatic but there ARE these cases out there. Just because you haven’t met one doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

I don't think you understand statistics. It's highly unlikely for a single individual to know "many" people who have died of covid including under 40s, as PP claimed. Highly unlikely is not the same as "doesn't exist." Maybe the person claiming to know so many dead people works in a nursing home--those employees probably know a lot of people who died of covid. As for long covid, no one's claiming it doesn't exist. But it's not nearly as prevalent as the news stories claim. While symptoms taking a long time to resolve seems to be common with covid, true disabling long covid, which is causing a lot of fear, seems to be a rare phenomenon.

Following to say she was told that her booster had worn off since as a teacher she was first to get vaccinated.

Oh yeah, I knew. Throat felt a bit scratchy Saturday evening, worse Sunday but I thought it was allergies. Monday I was hoarse and felt “off”, and I pretty much knew before I tested (positive on 2 rapids). Had phlegmy mucous in my throat and nose as well. Got more congested throughout the day Monday, lost my sense of taste and smell Tuesday, basically feel “better” today but I am still super winded from doing anything, and I can’t smell/taste at all. But other than that I don’t feel sick anymore. I am slightly congested but not enough to hinder breathing.

My dh tested positive on a pcr, which was done on day 2 of symptoms. He got a faint positive at home today, day 4. On Monday morning, he was congested and thought his spring allergies started early. Overnight, he awoke with chills and fever. Tuesday am, he was even more congested. Tuesday afternoon, his temperature went up again and fatigue hit. Wednesday, he was still congested, but his fever broke overnight. He got his appetite back. Today, he is tired and he has a sore and raspy throat. My kids woke up in the night last night with chills, fever, body aches and sore throat. I took a pcr today. I've had digestive issues since Monday, including a dry mouth. I don't know if I have covid. My dh said you know when you have it.
