First off, OP's general financial approach seems downright sensible, and it seems like he's doing great for his age (or any age).

But there's never a time where buying a $100,000 car is "smart" from a purely financial perspective. It's a luxury, plain and simple. I wouldn't personally spend that much on a luxury in your situation, but it just becomes personal opinion at that point. I'd say go buy a luxury SUV like a Q7 for $60k and pocket $40k, but then there'd be others to say go buy a used 2015 CRV and pocket $80k.

You can "afford" it, at the expense of your savings or some other purchase.

People who own them on here are telling you the repair costs are negligible.

Mine is 4 years old. Never paid anything but twice yearly diesel exhaust fee (like 80 bucks)
