This is what happens when you have prosecutors that refuse to enforce the law because they don't like it.

The spying on each other is supposedly so antithetic to a Republican's point of view though, right? Big government and all

There’s only one principle left in the modern Republican Party, and that is lying.
Lying to voters to get them to vote for tax cuts for GOP billionaires. That’s it.

They built their party on lies and now it’s filled with liars.
Whatever failings Dems have, they are mostly honest about their goals.

Yep, Republicans are party of liars, and fruitcakes!

Says the party willing to discard election results and destroy democracy.

F off.

We only want to discard fraudulent votes.

Sorry the idea of that triggers you.

Smooch

You’re an imbecile.

Who in their right mind think it is OK with deputizing citizens to be vigilantes, spying on neighbors? Texas make abortion of embryo past 6 week illegal. But other states may implement this law making illegal abortion for Down syndrome, fragile X, etc. This is setting a dangerous precedent and must not be given a foothold in VA. I lived in Berlin in the 90’s, this is straight up Stasi stuff.

Dems need to keep the majority or you may find yourself living in a authoritarian state.

Do you mean 30s?

Stasi was East Germany, big in 60’s. My point was that even as the Wall was coming down, people were afraid. My roommates boyfriend was
From East Germany. He had stories. Really, this law that outsources enforcement to citizens is horrific and should alarm all Americans.

Yeah. Sort of like the self-appointed neighborhood park police who loved to call the cops on kids not wearing masks when playing sports outside last summer. Is that what you're referring to, PP?

No. It’s really quite different. I’m not going to go back and explain to you what has already been explained of thread. But you know that already, don’t you?

DP here and I actually really do not understand the correlations you are trying to make at all. East German Stasi, Texas Republicans, and Virginia politics? None of these things have anything to do with each other in any way, shape or form.

There’s an election coming in Nov. a new Governor, will be elected. As, LT Gov, maybe AG and delegates. IF GOP were to regain control of VA government, the crazy GOP would implement their own version of what’s going on in Texas. And what’s going on in Texas is basically turning neighbors into snitches, a la Stasi.

This is truly fanciful and very imaginative. Unfortunately (or fortunately) it has no semblance in reality.

Republicans are liars.
They have to be, because their policies are toxic.
That’s why Republicans lie about stuff like this. To the extent it’s Orwellian. War is peace. Freedom is Slavery. Jonah Goldberg, Republican: liberals are authoritarians.
Lies.

The truth is, it is authoritarian states that are the problem, and modern US liberal Dems are anti-authoritarian, while Republicans are pro-authoritarian.

But Republicans have to lie about that.

First of all, you’re wrong.

Second, you live amongst many, many middle-of-the-road folks who tend to lean right for the sake of fiscal responsibility and national security. Speaking like you do only alienates them, pushes them deeper within, and makes your side look like terrorists willing to hurt anyone and anybody to get your way.

Note: the TX law is ridiculous and shouldn’t be upheld

Love, your friendly neighborhood Republican

NO Republicans are not the party of "fiscal responsiblity".

They stood by and let Trump steal and grift how many 100 of millions of $ while in office. Election lies cost and are still costing taxpayers $600 million and counting.

Spare us the garbage you are spewing. They are not in any way fiscally responsible. Ron Johnson and Mo Brooks and Ted Cruz are perfect examples of grifters.

Um, Republicans aren’t trying to ruin our currency and put our great-grandchildren into additional debt with a $3.5 trillion spending “package”

You call it “spending”, I call it “investing.” Time will tell which it is.

You "invest" with money you have.
This $3.5 TRILLION bill is a joke. Even if we HAD the money, spending it in this manner would be a huge mistake.
Even Democrats are balking at the package.

Do you the 2018 tax cut?
