But I guess it doesn’t really matter bc all the air filter people aren’t concerned bc it was just those brown kids and their white kids are fine so you know air filters are far more pressing
Haha, It's APE back again pretending to care about brown kids and using brown kids to further their own agenda. So f'in predictable.
and actually air filters are pressing. Air filters = keep kids and teachers in school and keep schools open = teachers can focus on teaching = SOL scores go back up. See how this works?
oh yes air filters are all that’s needed - that will fix everything
oh and my kid is one of the brown kids
So we should not advocate for air filters and better ventilation? Can’t we care about both? Or must it be one or the other?
No we can’t nor should we be wasting time or resources
The ventilation is fine. In all the buildings. It just is. What this lady wants is the premium, optimum filtration system sold by marketing that comes with lots of big words and big promises and delivers nothing over the current system. You just love the words optimum, premium, and so on. They attract you like a bug to like.
How about this? How many times has this woman advocated for premium or optimum education materials in all schools in APS? How many?? I can count 0 over the last year.
Again. I am op and not this other person you reference. I offered to by teacher a filter for classroom. I was advised Arlington had something else. Then I heard what they had and posted here.
OP, pay this person no mind. I don't. They don't contribute anything useful. They post attacks on this same parent on multiple threads. It's a weird obsession.

I don’t get the issue with air lady. She’s not advocating for shutting down schools, just making them more safe. The safer schools are the less likely we will get a covid outbreak and the less likely schools will end up shutting down. Isn’t that something we all want to avoid?
I think she is advocating for shutting down schools although she doesn’t use those words. She has zero perspective and thinks she is an expert. Did you catch the Uber hysterical post on arl neighbors?
If you think she's advocating for shutting down schools, that's your own paranoia.
A lot of school have shut down already -- the ones without the things she's advocating for. If you want schools to stay open, stopping opposing things like better ventilation. Unless you just want Covid to spread and that's your agenda, which is what it sounds like.
Arlington has among the highest vaccination rates in the country (and now it's mandated in schools for staff), and has put in more mitigation measures than most school districts, even neighboring ones. I'm confident that our children and staff will be okay. There may be some quarantines, but that's always the risk you took when you signed up for in person school. Even with every mitigation you want in place, you are taking risk. There's only so much Syphax can do with the funding they already have. But I'm happy with what they were able to accomplish, and I feel fine with the mitigation plan in place.
I don't think anyone opposes more mitigation measures necessarily. I even advocated for outdoor lunch at my school, but not as a organized effort with someone giving me talking points and "guidance". Most of us just oppose the incessant "expert"-laden posts and gloom and doom she and her friends constantly post. It's not effective, and like you're seeing here and in other posts, it's backfiring. And I'm saying this as a "normal" parent, not someone affiliated with APE or Open Schools Now.
What is wrong with an organized effort to have lunch outdoors? Isn’t the goal to keep schools open? Wouldn’t lunch outdoors, better filters and open windows help stop the spread of the virus? Yep ventilation lady is crazy but a lot of what she is saying is true. Let’s focus on that.
I think they just need to get out of their own way. Of course most people want schools to be as safe as possible. Ventilation Lady and Outdoor Lunch lady though are drowning the message in hysteria and repetition across several pages. It’s a total turn off. More people may engage if the same people weren’t posting over and over again. They need new messengers who aren’t so… offputting.
So step up and help spread the message.
I did. At my school. Without any of them or their propaganda. I'm not into extremism, so no thank you to both of them.

She posts delta is more transmissible! 50 percent attack rate from a asymptomatic teacher. She links to a cdc study about Marin county. Did she read it? First paragraph states that the teacher was unvaccinated. 3rd paragraph notes that she took her mask off while reading in the classroom. Further down notes that she was symptomatic and taught for two days with a fever and cough. So a maskless unvaccinated coughing feverish teacher spread covid to 1/2 her students. Shocking.
So…..ignore her posts?
Seems like you should have better things to do with your time.
She "works" from home. Selling paper. Really great/pretty paper. I"ll give her that. Talent in her field.
Wow, someone is obsessed. I feel sorry for you. Really. (and I'm a little scared by your stalking and obsession with this one mom).

No doubt she's complaining to APS.
This is why we can't have nice things.
You guys wanted to open up full capacity, we're doing that. Why are you lunatics attacking the mitigation and the rational parents who want it?
