Because they are not joining a large team. 18 kids are rostered each game. The other 10 or 11 play another game. Why do it? Opportunity to train with top players and maybe your border player improves and takes someone’s spot. Also they are listed on the roster so can use that for their own marketing at college showcases. This is much better than not being part of an ECNl program. Makes perfect sense.

So to make a long story short, can someone make a summary, maybe a few bullet points, of why parents allow their kids to join an ECNL team with a giant roster?

That team has beaten McLean, Bethesda and Loudoun and other top teams in the area and has at least a dozen girls capable of playing at the next level. MSI parents had the choice of going to a non-McLean ECNL team or keep the team together and move to McLean ro remain with Nadir. Some of the top players on the team were already playing McLean ECNL and others will have the opportunity to do so while others will play on the Composite where they will showcase at the top non-ECNL showcases. Given Nadir’s reputation among and connection to college coaches, moving to McLean is not a bad place. Are the players guaranteed college recruiting? No but clearly you can recognize that the opportunity is there.

This too. I haven't seen the crazy thread about pre-season scrimmages yet... but the composite team did beat VDA 05 ECNL pretty easily...

That was mostly ECNL starters, not composite, that beat VDA 7-1

not the week before when they beat them 3-1...

So VDA ECNL lost to both McLean ECNL team and McLean composite team?

So did McLean 03/04 really lose 6-0 to VDA ?

Yes

Are these MSI white players wearing Union jerseys or McLean jerseys? This is the problem with these "Union" ECNL teams being overloaded. They all purchases Union kits. They can't just appear for a McLean green team game

That might be true at other age groups re: needing two kits, but a dual roster still has a "primary" team and could use a guest jersey when playing for the other team. The 05 composite players wear Union jerseys.

The message was that a EDP/NL team would be formed under the VA Union umbrella and the team would include MSI White players and some McLean / VA Union players. Both ECNL and EDP/NL would practice together. Rosters for both would be determined on a game by game basis. No one is guaranteed a spot.
Is this MSI White team which is now part of the Union ECNL team playing in another league besides ECNL? I'm curious with what Nadir told them when he brought them over. Also what happened to his 2005 Herndon team?

I have never understood why or how it is possible for him to coach 3 teams at the 2005 age group. Does he actually attend all the practices for all of these teams?

I understand why, how is another story. He hasn’t missed a training yet… games are another story. I have no idea how he will pull this off. But, maybe combining the msi girls with his mclean girls will at least help? There are some assistant coaches available so hopefully if he’s traveling with ecnl, for example, there’s an assistant ready to step in for the EDP teams.

That was covered above - they’re playing EDP & USYS NL PRO. Think his 05 Herndon team is under DMV FC now, but could be wrong. He has them registered for VDA friendlies as “dmv fc 05 - force” … isn’t Force what the 05 Herndon team was called?
