At what position?

Center mid.

Did you just really have this convo? In public?

It’s over. Get over it.

This has been a good glimpse of what being a FCV parent must be like…

What, knowing that my DD is going to start center mid for FCV 07, the best team in DMV, and now get college recruits knocking on the door? Respect.

This is sad because it was totally preventable. Burke's interpersonal skills are from another era, all of which was evident when he was a youth coach at FCV. Our kids weren't even on his team but knew enough to take a wide berth from the guy. I had hoped that he had turned over a new leaf at Spirit, but that appears to not be the case.

Uh oh. Who are the spirit going to hire now from FCV? Just a lot of good news coming out of that club right now.

Does Tom Torres coach girls at FCV?

Another non sequitur. I was addressing a comment about him coaching the FCV girls.

He does. What did he do?

From the article:

Last summer, Spirit assistant coach Tom Torres left the club “to pursue other interests,” according to the team’s statement. Multiple sources say his departure followed concerning behavior at a post-NWSL Challenge Cup party in 2020. Those sources said he was intoxicated and making inappropriate comments to players in attendance. When reached for comment, Torres declined to do so.

In April, Torres took a new position as the senior staff coach for the girls’ academy and travel programs at The St. James FC Virginia, a sprawling, multi-sport and fitness complex in suburban D.C.

There are other known professional links between the Spirit and The St. James FC Virginia, as well. Christian Cziommer, a former member of Burke’s staff, is currently listed ex-officio as FC Virginia’s technical director for elite player development. Burke worked at FC Virginia (before it was acquired by The St. James) while Cziommer was there, and Cziommer became a member of Burke’s Spirit staff as a technical analyst and team performance coach from January to October of 2019.

Yikes. And FCV tried to cover it up when it happened there to a youth player.
